2. What have you learned from your audience
feedback?
From conducting this project this year, it has
taught me the importance of knowing you
target audience and what their thoughts and
opinions are. Without knowing your target
audience and what they like and dislike, it will
be extremely hard to guarantee the success of
the product produced.
In relation to our genre, our group were lucky
that the main age range of are target audience
were at are sixth form, therefore it was very
easy to gain feedback via questionnaire or
through the use of web 2.0.
As you can see our group carried out extensive
audience feedback as we felt that it was vital to
take both positive, and constructive feed back
to improve and push our media products to
there full potential
I am now going to go in to detail on how they
have helped us, and give examples of where
some feedback wasn’t helpful.

3. What have you learned from your audience
feedback?
Near the beginning of the process, we
conducted a focus group in our sixth
form with a couple of members of are
target audience
We found this really helpful, as we
could ask open questions to gain in-
depth response which we could then
incorporate into our media products.
We were able to ask questions on a
number of different topics such as
location, costume and narrative
In result of the focus group, we incorporated a
more theatrical performance during the
performance section of the video, E.g. interacting
with camera
An example from our video of interacting with camera
4. What have you learned from your audience
feedback?
Here we conducted a
questionnaire after we
created three mock-
ups of are ancillary
advert poster and
album cover.
Our group valued the
opinions and responses of
our target audience as at
the end of the day, they
would be the potential
buyers of our media
product
From the response of our
target audience, we
decided to pursue poster 1
and CD Digi pack cover 1
Here are some of
the reasons why
the most popular
one was chosen
5. What have you learned from your audience
feedback?
Feedback from target audience
via web 2.0 – Facebook.
Even though this feedback was
positive and very motivating, it
wasn’t very helpful and
constructive as we would had
liked.
However, it gave us an
indication that we had
produced a successful product
which was our groups main
target.
Again, this is unhelpful
feedback which we can
learn nothing from to
help us improve our
product.
In the real industry many
artist could upload videos
on to social websites such as
Facebook of their song as a
demo and see what
response they receive from
their fans. This is very
effective as it will see what
songs are popular and
liked, meaning that they
could include that song on
there album
6. What have you learned from your audience
feedback?
Because we were not getting the
constructed feedback we were
looking for on sources such as
Facebook and Twitter, we decided
to go down the more traditional
route of conducting questionnaires.
From our questionnaire we
conducted, we learned that the
decisions made about costume
were overall correct. This was
one of our groups main concerns
as we knew it was vital to get the
clothing right to appeal to are
target audience.
Do you think that the costumes wore in the poster and CD album cover reflected the genre?
We felt by conducting
questionnaires we could receive
precise feedback on what we wanted
to hear to help us improve.
7. What have you learned from your audience
feedback?
Here one member of our group
followed SUM 41 on twitter, which
then we tweeted our video on
SUM 41 page and asked people
who also follow SUM 41 to give
feedback to us on there thoughts
of the rough copy of our music
video.
To our surprise, one person did tweet
back, and with some constructive
feedback in regards to our music
video. In result to our feedback, we decided to add
more special effects such as the slow motion
scene at the end of our video.
We also decided to add more humour to
increase the entertainment value the video,
therefore we incorporated the scene where
Craig puts his middle finger up.
8. What have you learned from your audience
feedback?
In the stages of editing our music
video, our group decided to hold
three ‘communication sessions’ with
member of our target audience to
gain constructive feedback on copies
of our music video
The feedback we received
were on the topics of ,
tightening the sequence of
shots, having more
variety of shot types
Then with a month to go, we
incorporated all the ideas
together to then improve the
standard of our video
Out of all of the feedback, we felt
that verbal feedback was one of the
most effective mediums
An example of the feedback
we received is:
“ Between 2.54min and 3:15 it
gets slightly boring. Have you
thought about having some
kind of interaction between the
two males which is funny ”
“ That shot is held to long, try
and use a couple of different
shots to reflect the rhythm of
the song”

Example- Action
“ Try not to make the ending
obvious, because then when
people talk about your video
it will give them a reason to
watch to the end”
In result to our feedback,
we incorporated the
scene where Craig puts
his middle finger up at
me
In the performance of our
video we made quick edits
by incorporating low
angle, mid-shot and close
up
In result of our feedback our

a lesbian
