1. 私の問題意識:意識の科学的解明
Blindsight (盲視)の研究のまとめ
• 盲視とは: Visual information processing without visual consciousness
• 盲視サルはサリエントな刺激に眼を向けることができる。(Yoshida et.al., 2008)
• 盲視であるってどんな感じ?: 視覚意識とサリエンシーの二重システム
私の問題意識
• HOT と前反省的自己意識、どちらが盲視を理解するのに役に立つか?
• 意識への一人称的アプローチは可能か?
• これまでの意識の認知神経科学的アプローチはヘテロ現象学的な三人称的アプローチだった。で
もそれで充分なのだろうか? ヴァレラの神経現象学は意識の一人称的アプローチの研究プログラ
ムたり得るか。
2. 前反省的自己意識と高階説(第 3 章)
前反省的自己意識とはなにか?
• 経験的現象のこの直接的一人称的な所与性は「前反省的」自己意識の観点から説明されなければな
らない
• 経験に対する反省以前は[...]「自己意識を欠いていた」というわけではない。その経験はすでに私に
対して現前しており、すでに私たちに対してのものであった。その意味で、経験は前反省的に意識
的なのである。(G&Z p.66)
• 「前反省的自己意識」はこの本の中で非常に重要な概念であるにもかかわらず、定義が一文で明
示的に書かれていないので、理解に手間取った。
Zahavi & Parnas 1998 での記述
• self-awareness in a more basic but also more fundamental sense [...] whenever I am acquainted
with an experience in its first-personal mode of givenness”(p.689)
• pre-reflective self-awareness — which is an immediate, implicit and irrelational, non-objectifying,
non-conceptual and non-propositional self-acquaintance”
• reflective self-awareness — which, at least in certain forms, is an explicit, conceptual and
objectifying thematization of consciousness” (p.696)
高階説 vs. 現象学
• 意識の高階説
6. My comments:
• 意識状態について「発見的にカテゴリー分けをする」点以外はヘテロ現象学と違いはない。
• 結局のところ「神経相関」であって、力学系的な「内的に区別可能なカテゴリーの創発」とはなっ
ていない。
• 神経現象学は自らの目的をまだちゃんと達成できていない。
• 「前倒しされた現象学」にしろ、「神経現象学」にしろ、脳との対応付け(神経相関問題)を考える時
点で袋小路にぶつかっているのではないか?
• それよりは、力学系的な解析を徹底して「内的に区別可能なカテゴリーの創発」などによって一人
称的視点が出来たときにそれがどのような構造を持つのか、といった問題でこそ現象学が役に立つ
のではないだろうか?
