3. The Harrison Group has launched a new division, the DFW Foreclosure Group, designed to help homeowners facing foreclosure hardship in the Dallas real estate market. Mary Beth Harrison, a Dallas real estate specialist who founded The Harrison Group in 1995, has developed a marketing strategy and website that is focused on assisting distressed homeowners with finding information and investigating options to avoid the foreclosure process. Harrison is an expert in short sales, a real estate transaction option that banks will consider instead of foreclosure with specific guidelines, DFW Foreclosure Groupis determined to provide essential knowledge to homeowners in Dallas, TX facing this unfortunate circumstance. Tune Into 1190am on Monday, July 27th for the Wall Street Shuffle. Mary Beth Harrison will be speaking on… Why is there so much press given to the real estate market? Define distressed property. Define a hardship. What should a person do first when faced with inability to pay the mortgage? Why is foreclosure such a hot topic? Visitors to www.DFWForeclosureGroup.com will find information regarding the process of foreclosure, the effects of foreclosure on a homeowner, and ways to prevent the foreclosure process from continuing. The website features easy-to-understand informational tools such as frequently asked questions, a glossary of terms and free reports, as well as resources that allow the homeowner to get their questions addressed in a confidential manner. In addition, the website offers the homeowner information regarding short sales, often a viable solution to foreclosure that can save a distressed homeowner from the damaging effects that foreclosure has on their credit. “It is important in today’s economic conditions for homeowners to know that they have options other than the foreclosure route,” says Harrison. “Statistics show that 50% of homeowners facing this stressful situation often ignore the issue and that doesn’t have to be. There are options such as a short sale, especially if the homeowner works with an experienced REALTOR® who can assist in showing the lender the hardship situation and other real estate documentation.” Harrison’s new website provides visitors with a description of how the short sale process works, how it compares to a foreclosure, and how a homeowner may be able to qualify for a short sale. 7. Harrison’s Sales Healthy at Keller Williams Mary Beth Harrison has entered the Real Estate profession following a very successful career in health and fitness. Her momentum is constant and is one reason she was the Rookie of the Year and achieved the top plateau in real estate sales her first year. She has been first in the number of units sold in the Park Cities office since 1991 and continues to achieve top company-wide ranking. Before beginning her Real Estate Career, Harrison had the vision to channel her knowledge of familiar dance movements into exercise and physical fitness programs which resulted in the creation of her own aerobics business which she pursued until 1985. At this time, she was invited by an internationally known, locally owned hotel group to formulate a program for their spa and resort which was opening in Dallas and served as operations director for the famous spa. Following success with this endeavor, she then took the step she had been considering for more than 20 years - she began her career in real estate. Talking to buyers and sellers who call into the Park Cities office is something she genuinely enjoys. She fondly recalls her first sale that came from such telephone contact. The president of an international telecommunications company called in seeking a property to buy for his daughter. Sensing from their conversation the man would not like the specific property he inquired about, she made appointments for him to see five other homes. He selected one of the five and bought it the same day. Her ability to listen to what a client wants and turn it into the home of their dreams is a large part of her success. Mary Beth Harrison “Real estate is a ripple effect,” she says. “One positive action causes another positive action. And, it’s a people business. If you work well with people, have a positive attitude and make the buying process fun, they will tell their friends who then contacts you.” Continually staying on top of the market, Harrison previews homes in area residential neighborhoods. She also searches for buyers to purchase properties in her listing inventory, which gives her an opportunity to view both sides of the market. “I make it my business to know the inventory and stay abreast of legal and financial issues affecting real estate in order to provide full service to both buyers and sellers,” Harrison says. “I feel being a Dallas native gives me an extra edge, too. I know the territory-all the way to the suburbs.” Last month Harrison closed transactions in Preston Hollow, the Park Cities North Dallas and Plano. This busy, energetic sales associate continues to keep up her fitness regime. She credits it with being able to keep up the pace that has propelled her into the top sales echelon of Dallas Realtors.
