This document discusses optimal nutrition strategies for critically ill patients. It emphasizes the importance of early enteral nutrition within 48 hours of admission, and achieving adequate calorie and protein intake levels. Higher calorie and protein intake levels are associated with better outcomes like reduced infections, shorter hospital stays and lower mortality.
