ship was dead. He had a cross
on his hand. There was no-one

In one of them, I saw the

asleep? It was impossible to

children have strange
mark on their necks like
the marks poor Lucy had.
6. FINAL CONCLUSION
This novel mixs together fear, immagination, suspence
and mistery. The reader through the diaries of the main
characters, can discover the real identity of count
Dracula and put himself in the shoes of Mr Harker or
his fiancè Mina, hoping to defeat the terrible un-dead
and to save the people in danger.
9. Principal theme:
A world of the senses, beauty and joy,
but also terror, fear and murder.
Setting:
Late nineteenth-century
London a city of contrasts.
10. Plot
Dorian Gray is the subject of a full-length portrait in oil by Basil
Hallward, an artist impressed and infatuated by Dorian’s beauty; he
believes that Dorian's beauty is responsible for the new mood in his art
as a painter. Through Basil, Dorian meets Lord Henry Wotton, and he
soon is enthralled by the aristocrat’s hedonistic world view: that
beauty and sensual fulfilment are the only things worth pursuing in
life.
Newly understanding that his beauty will fade, Dorian expresses the
desire to sell his soul, to ensure that the picture, rather than he, will
age and fade. The wish is granted, and Dorian pursues a libertine life of
varied amoral experiences while staying young and beautiful; all the
while, his portrait ages and records every sin.

Dorian Gray, young, handsome and
innocent at the beginning of the story
but then, after having declared that he
would give his soul to never grow old, he
will follow a dissolute and amoral life for
the time in accordance with the current
philosophy of aestheticism and of the
anti-Victorian era.
