much respect for ghosts and I cannot live with one of
themā€ Thomas said, terrified.
His parentsā€™ house was smaller than his. In addition, it is
located in a dangerous neighborhood. ā€œI will moved from
house when I find another place for I can liveā€ Thomas
thought. However, as the time passed, increasingly he felt
better with his family, and their relationship grew posi-
tively.
One night, Thomas opened his eyes and he saw beside
him the shade again. He was terrified and he decided
to go to the hospital because he believed that it was
the only way to know what had really happened. Be-
fore the doctor told his result Thomas could read what
his eyes said. ā€œUnfortunately you have a highly devel-
oped brain tumorā€¦ā€ he remembered the doctorā€™s words.
The musician decided to sell the Arizonaā€™s house
and he stayed with his parents in California.
ā€œI have a fabulous house, but why do I want it if I donā€™t
have anyone with whom to enjoy it? I donā€™t know how long
I will live, but Iā€™m sure that I will spend my time with the
people who love meā€..
A ghost invades Thomas
Newmanā€™s house
A
s you may know, Thomas Montgomery New-
man was borned in California, USA, in 1955.
Nowadays, he is one of the most celebrat-
ed soundtrack composers. He has orches-
trated more than fifty films in the last three decades.
Two years ago Thomas moved to a mansion far from his
family, in Phoenix, Arizona. ā€œI needed to have my space far
away from everybody and I wanted to compose my songs
aloneā€ Thomas said. Her house was amazing and it was
450 m2. Besides it had four floors with spa, a gym, a room
where he could compose songs and so like. In other words,
he had a house that many people would like to have.
Months later, Thomas stopped enjoying his house when
he started to see weird events. A dark shade appeared
to him every midnight in his bedroom and because of it
he could not sleep peacefully. ā€I had someone beside me
who was looking at me while I was sleepingā€ he affirmed.
For this reason he decided to perform some rituals to de-
lete the spirit which lived with him. Moreover, he searched
a cure so that he could solve his problem. All the same,
nothing he did was worth, then, the musician decided to
move again to his parentsā€™ house, in California. ā€œI have

O
ne of the most important soundtracks in his-
tory is ā€œMy heart will go onā€ sang by Celine
Dion. Dion accepted to be in charge of the
song when she found out why James Camer-
on wanted to produce that film, ā€œHe wishes that every-
body knows the truth about Titanic.ā€ Violet Jessop, helped
James Cameron by telling him her story at the ship.
White Star Lineā€™s vessel had the three largest and most
luxurious boats in the world, all of which ended up in a
disaster. Their names were: the Olympic, Britannic and
Titanic. The most incredible thing, considering that she
was in the ships at the moment of the misfortunes, is that
Violet Jessop survived to all of them.
On April 10th 1912, the craft known as ā€œShip of dreamsā€,
RMS Titanic, left from Southampton. Violet was in the ship
because she was required to be employed as a maid. Lat-
er on April 23rd 1912, at 23:45 hours, according to the
registers of the time, the gigantic ship collided with an ice-
berg triggering one of the biggest maritime tragedies of
the history.

Ms. Jessop was commanded to go on one of the life boats
with her maid-mates to show the crewā€™s feared passen-
gers that it was safe. That random fact made that 705
people survived to that fateful and cold night.
As Jessop said, at the lifeboat number 16, where she was,
one of the Titanicā€™s officers gave her a baby to take care
of until they were rescued. Then the long hours of waiting
and the cold of the night came, listening to the ones who
were perishing in the frozen waters. Finally, a ship came
to rescue all the people who were swimming in the frozen
sea.
In conclusion, the most important according to Violet Jes-
sop was hope, the one she never lost. James Cameron
thought that she was a real survivor and for that reason
so he had the necessity of showing it in the film. What
most impressed CĆ©line Dion was that despite all these
tragedies, Jessop never gave up sailing.

P
erhaps this tittle can create confronta-
tion among electronic music and rock
fans. But letā€™s see why a lot of experts
are discussing it. Rock music emerged
in the 50ā€™s in the states. Since this times is pres-
ent in our music culture and a lot of people has
listened, is listening and will listen to it, but not
with the same popularity that this music had in
the past. In fact, rock music is more than music.
Thereā€™s a culture between rock, during its gold
decade moved a lot of people and generat-
ed a lot of money. But nowadays thereā€™s a new
exponent in the music world: the electronic
music. This genre exists since the beginning of
20th century but its popularity raised up in the
70ā€™s. Like the rock music, it has a lot of subge-
nres. But House music and all the variants that
it has are the more popular. House was born in
the States, like Rock, concretely in Chicago and
Detroit. So, in fact these two genres had lived
together. But rock music was more popular un-
til the start of 21th century. However today this
is different. In the past DJs were only the peo-
ple who played music in a club, and the rock-
stars were the most well-known musicians.

hey won a lot of money, filled stadiums
with their concerts and had bizarre life.
All people know the famous phrase ā€œSex,
drugs and Rock&Rollā€. But all of this has
changed. Since the clubs culture has started to
rise up the image of the DJ is different. Today,
the DJs fill stadiums, generate a lot of money and
many famous pop singers want to collaborate
with it. This is present in numbers. According to
Forbes, Calvin Harris won 66 millions of dollars in
the last year. Also nowadays the industry of elec-
tronic music generates 6.9 billions of dollars and
since the last years it has raised up a 49%. Anoth-
er example can be the electronic music festivals.
Tomorrowland is one of the most famous mu-
sic festivals, during his first edition in 2005 sold
10.000 tickets, in 2015 sold 180.000. To conclude,
itā€™s obvious that electronic music nowadays is
the top exponent in the industry, and today itā€™s in
constant rising. Although rock music is alive and
will continue staying in our ears for a long time.

ne of the most waited gala took place in the Dolby
Theatre, in Los Angeles. The nerves were increasing
between the nominees for the Oscar. But the most
shocking part of the night was the complaint about the
lack of black nominated despite of it the presenter was Chris Rock
who cleared up their disagreement on that issue of the event, by
using parody.
Spotlight from Michael Sugar was one of the main surprises of the
show by its Oscar for the Best Screenplay. Itā€™s a true story about
the journalism investigation which reveals some cases of sexual
abuse made by some priests of the Catholic Church in Boston.
The unexpected no-winners of the Oscar was The Revenant but,
nevertheless, his main actor, Leonardo Dicaprio, got his first Oscar
for being the Best Actor, after four previous failed nominations.
Alejandro G. IƱarritu, who directed the film, won the prize to Best

Brie Larson took her first Oscar for her role in the film
The Room. The plot is about a mother and child who,
after being kidnapped for seven years, manage to es-
cape from the cockpit where have remained locked so
they experience together how the outside world works.
Swedish actress Alicia Vikander won the Oscar for Best

Morricone, which was his first Oscar, for the soundtrack
of Quentin Tarantinoā€™s ā€œThe Hateful Eightā€.
Lady Gagaā€™s performance excited many people with her

H
ans Zimmer is considered one of the
best music composers, nowadays, on
the cinema, he is also a pioneer of the
integration of electronic music.
He was born in Frankfurt, Germany in 1957 and
he started to play the piano when he was a child.
After that, he moved to London to collaborate
with his mentor, Stanley Myers.
In 1988, he was nominated for the Best
Soundtrack at The Oscars for his work in Rain
Man which won the Best Film award that year.
In that point, cinemaā€™s world realized about his
work and focus on the youngest composer of
that time. He was able to adapt his music com-
positions to any kind of film he was required.
At the beginnings of the 90s, he was absolutely
known as a famous composer. That was shown,
thanks to his work with Walt Disney in 1994,
when he won an Oscar from the Academy for his
work in the Lion King which was all directed and
produced by him.

at the Baftas, he had been nominated

All in all, he worked with some films
that marked cinemaā€™s history. Nowa-
days he can be considered as one fa-
ther of the soundtracks and, probably,
he will be the inspiration for future
composers who will follow his steps.

The story about a victorious general, Maximus Decimus Meridias,
who was named keeper of Rome and after a huge betrayal becomes
a gladiator.
R
idley Scott is the director of one of the most
amazing and emotional films that mankind
have ever seen.
Firstly, the film shows a Roman Emperor,
Marcus Aurelius (Richard Harris), who
is tired and regrets that, while he has
been the Emperor, his people has had
only four years of peace. He believes
that a new Roma can be created by one
of the most brave and loyal general of
his army, Maximus Decimus Meridio
(Russell Crowe). His son, Comodo Aure-
lius (Joaquin Phoenix), who is full of jealousy, decides
to make an accurate plan to get the empire beneath
his power.
T
here are several parts in the film that touch our
feelings. An awesome stuff of this film is to raise
different kinds of feelings like sadness, happi-
ness, love or others that make you empathize
with the main character.
Nevertheless, thatā€™s not all. This film has a
beautiful soundtrack that, regarding the
last paragraph, makes this film become
one of the best films that cinema has ever
seen.As a drawback, the story is too long
and probably Ridley Scott might have made
it a bit shorter. To sum up, a film to see be-
cause the topic of Middle Earth and Romaā€™s Empire is so
amazing for people who enjoy it.

T
his is a science-fiction and drama film direct-
ed by Christopher Nolan, with a cast led by
Leonardo DiCaprio, as Dom Cobb, Joseph
Gordon-Levitt as Arthur and Ellen Page as
Ariadne. These three characters with new
high technology can induce a dream in
people. Also they are who plan and man-
age all the dreams. All the dreams are
managed by their subconscious and the
induced person. In the film characters
have to deal with a difficult mission. That
mission consist of introducing information
into a mind, the most difficult thing to do in this spe-
ciality.
T
he director, Christopher Nolan has the difficulty
to make real a thing that is impossible in real life
control dreams, but he finally can do it success-
fully.
Clearly, the best thing that we can see,
on the film is the incredible soundtrack
by Hans Zimmer. His composition makes
a lot of sensations and creates a really
good atmosphere. In summary it is mar-
vellous.
Maybe the only bad point, but not that
bad, is the end, which is so fast and possi-
bly, for some spectators, is not too clear.
The end leaves the sensation that maybe Cobb is even in
a dream. So to verify that youā€™d better see the film and
draw your own conclusion.
Inception
This Story tells how Dom Cobb and his team go into the dreams to
steal or have information.

C: So How are you Marc?
M: Iā€™m fine, thanks for inviting me.
I:Marc, at what age you started
to mix music? And explain to us a
Little bit of your experience.
M:Wellā€¦ I have been interested in
music since I was a child but I became
Dj at age of 14. At the beginning, I
started in my bedroom with a Little
Dj controller; itā€™s funny to remember
these moments because when I lis-
ten to the kind of stuff that I was mak-
ing, Iā€™m scared. (Laugh)
C: Oh Ok, so Marc I know that you
participated in different contest.
What about this?
M: Yes, I participated in two different
local contests that I won in the same
year. The first was the DJ Contest in
Granollers. The second one was the
Muntronik in LliƧa.
C: Thatā€™s so interesting, how you
improved your technic?
M: A few years ago I realized that may-
be I needed to attend a course be-
cause I felt that I could improve more
than by myself. So I took an intensive
course in a recognized school.
C: Oh that was so helpful for you.
M: Yes yes, because I started to get
in touch with professional Dj equip-
ment.
C: Marc, what type of music do
you mix?
M: Well, I usually mix EDM or Tech-
no Music but it also depends on the
public. I can mix all kinds of music like
commercial or reggateon too, if peo-
ple ask me it. Thatā€™s why my job con-
sists of making people dance.
C: Marc what would you say to
people who are starting in this
world?
M: If I had to say something I would
say to them that they must practise a
lot, donā€™t be close-minded about mu-
sic styles and be patient.
: Oh Marc thatā€™s really awesome
for your part. I would like to ask
you for more but the time is over.
M: Iā€™m so happy that you came and
share your opinion. Goodbye.

In this issue we will interview Ellie Goulding.
She is promoting her new album ā€œDeliriumā€.
People who sing songs in murderer
films are not catalogued as murder-
ers.
M: I understand, and do you have
any idea for the next album?
E: Yes, I am preparing another album
that is completely different from
everything that Iā€™ve sung before, be-
tween interviews and in my free time
Iā€™m writing different ideas, but at the
moment it is only that, an idea.
M: I imagine that right now you
are too busy, but are you prepar-
ing any tour? Where would you
like to do it?
E: Yes, well Iā€™ve done one and I donā€™t
rule out doing another in the USA,
but I need to prepare it well and time
is something that right now I do not
have.
M: Well, thanks Elllie for coming,
I hope things continue going on
well or at least donā€™t get worse,
and all of you have found out
more about Ellie Gouldling.
M: Hello Ellie, how are you?
E: Hi Miriam, first of all Iā€™m really hap-
py to be here today with you in this
interview.
M: Thanks Ellie, the pleasure is
mine. First of all Iā€™d like to know
how you feel after one of your
songs has been the main one at
the most seen film Fifty Shades
of Grey.
E: Really, Iā€˜m excited about this album
with other singers. Iā€™m involved a lot
and I think and I hope people realise
about that when they are listening to
my songs.
M: Yes, it is. Have you noticed any
positive impact from this album?
E: Yes, the song ā€œlove me like you doā€
has been without any doubt a suc-
cess around the world so many peo-
ple know me because of the film.
M: Well and apart from these pos-
itive things, there will be some-
thing negative, wonā€™t it?
E: Not at all, although in some inter-
views I have been asked questions
like if I am sadomasochist, which
seems surprising that simply the fact
of doing the song for that film means
that I support sadomasochism.

In addition, it is located in a dangerous neighborhood. ā€œI will moved from house when I find another place for I can liveā€ Thomas thought. However, as the time passed, increasingly he felt better with his family, and their relationship grew posi- tively. One night, Thomas opened his eyes and he saw beside him the shade again. He was terrified and he decided to go to the hospital because he believed that it was the only way to know what had really happened. Be- fore the doctor told his result Thomas could read what his eyes said. ā€œUnfortunately you have a highly devel- oped brain tumorā€¦ā€ he remembered the doctorā€™s words. The musician decided to sell the Arizonaā€™s house and he stayed with his parents in California. ā€œI have a fabulous house, but why do I want it if I donā€™t have anyone with whom to enjoy it? I donā€™t know how long I will live, but Iā€™m sure that I will spend my time with the people who love meā€.. A ghost invades Thomas Newmanā€™s house A s you may know, Thomas Montgomery New- man was borned in California, USA, in 1955. Nowadays, he is one of the most celebrat- ed soundtrack composers. He has orches- trated more than fifty films in the last three decades. Two years ago Thomas moved to a mansion far from his family, in Phoenix, Arizona. ā€œI needed to have my space far away from everybody and I wanted to compose my songs aloneā€ Thomas said. Her house was amazing and it was 450 m2. Besides it had four floors with spa, a gym, a room where he could compose songs and so like. In other words, he had a house that many people would like to have. Months later, Thomas stopped enjoying his house when he started to see weird events. A dark shade appeared to him every midnight in his bedroom and because of it he could not sleep peacefully. ā€I had someone beside me who was looking at me while I was sleepingā€ he affirmed. For this reason he decided to perform some rituals to de- lete the spirit which lived with him. Moreover, he searched a cure so that he could solve his problem. All the same, nothing he did was worth, then, the musician decided to move again to his parentsā€™ house, in California. ā€œI have -6- by ClĆ udia GonzĆ”lez

MOLORRO MODI QUOSTIBUSA MEMORIES OF A SURVIVOR O ne of the most important soundtracks in his- tory is ā€œMy heart will go onā€ sang by Celine Dion. Dion accepted to be in charge of the song when she found out why James Camer- on wanted to produce that film, ā€œHe wishes that every- body knows the truth about Titanic.ā€ Violet Jessop, helped James Cameron by telling him her story at the ship. White Star Lineā€™s vessel had the three largest and most luxurious boats in the world, all of which ended up in a disaster. Their names were: the Olympic, Britannic and Titanic. The most incredible thing, considering that she was in the ships at the moment of the misfortunes, is that Violet Jessop survived to all of them. On April 10th 1912, the craft known as ā€œShip of dreamsā€, RMS Titanic, left from Southampton. Violet was in the ship because she was required to be employed as a maid. Lat- er on April 23rd 1912, at 23:45 hours, according to the registers of the time, the gigantic ship collided with an ice- berg triggering one of the biggest maritime tragedies of the history. Ms. Jessop was commanded to go on one of the life boats with her maid-mates to show the crewā€™s feared passen- gers that it was safe. That random fact made that 705 people survived to that fateful and cold night. As Jessop said, at the lifeboat number 16, where she was, one of the Titanicā€™s officers gave her a baby to take care of until they were rescued. Then the long hours of waiting and the cold of the night came, listening to the ones who were perishing in the frozen waters. Finally, a ship came to rescue all the people who were swimming in the frozen sea. In conclusion, the most important according to Violet Jes- sop was hope, the one she never lost. James Cameron thought that she was a real survivor and for that reason so he had the necessity of showing it in the film. What most impressed CĆ©line Dion was that despite all these tragedies, Jessop never gave up sailing. -7- by Miriam Bailach
  • 8. P erhaps this tittle can create confronta- tion among electronic music and rock fans. But letā€™s see why a lot of experts are discussing it. Rock music emerged in the 50ā€™s in the states. Since this times is pres- ent in our music culture and a lot of people has listened, is listening and will listen to it, but not with the same popularity that this music had in the past. In fact, rock music is more than music. Thereā€™s a culture between rock, during its gold decade moved a lot of people and generat- ed a lot of money. But nowadays thereā€™s a new exponent in the music world: the electronic music. This genre exists since the beginning of 20th century but its popularity raised up in the 70ā€™s. Like the rock music, it has a lot of subge- nres. But House music and all the variants that it has are the more popular. House was born in the States, like Rock, concretely in Chicago and Detroit. So, in fact these two genres had lived together. But rock music was more popular un- til the start of 21th century. However today this is different. In the past DJs were only the peo- ple who played music in a club, and the rock- stars were the most well-known musicians. • 12. H ans Zimmer is considered one of the best music composers, nowadays, on the cinema, he is also a pioneer of the integration of electronic music. He was born in Frankfurt, Germany in 1957 and he started to play the piano when he was a child. After that, he moved to London to collaborate with his mentor, Stanley Myers. In 1988, he was nominated for the Best Soundtrack at The Oscars for his work in Rain Man which won the Best Film award that year. In that point, cinemaā€™s world realized about his work and focus on the youngest composer of that time. He was able to adapt his music com- positions to any kind of film he was required. At the beginnings of the 90s, he was absolutely known as a famous composer. That was shown, thanks to his work with Walt Disney in 1994, when he won an Oscar from the Academy for his work in the Lion King which was all directed and produced by him. hans zimmer a life dedicated to sountracks Article by Christian MEdrano -12-

The oth- er nominations were in charge of Gladi- ator (2000), Sherlock Holmes, Inception (2010) and Interstellar (2014). He didnā€™t win those times but loads of viewers considered that the triumph should be given to him. On the other hand, he also won 2 Gold- en Globes for Lion King and Gladiator. Even though he has been nominated for others films too. The same happened at the Baftas, he had been nominated without any success. All in all, he worked with some films that marked cinemaā€™s history. • 14. The story about a victorious general, Maximus Decimus Meridias, who was named keeper of Rome and after a huge betrayal becomes a gladiator. R idley Scott is the director of one of the most amazing and emotional films that mankind have ever seen. Firstly, the film shows a Roman Emperor, Marcus Aurelius (Richard Harris), who is tired and regrets that, while he has been the Emperor, his people has had only four years of peace. He believes that a new Roma can be created by one of the most brave and loyal general of his army, Maximus Decimus Meridio (Russell Crowe). His son, Comodo Aure- lius (Joaquin Phoenix), who is full of jealousy, decides to make an accurate plan to get the empire beneath his power. T here are several parts in the film that touch our feelings. An awesome stuff of this film is to raise different kinds of feelings like sadness, happi- ness, love or others that make you empathize with the main character. Nevertheless, thatā€™s not all. This film has a beautiful soundtrack that, regarding the last paragraph, makes this film become one of the best films that cinema has ever seen.As a drawback, the story is too long and probably Ridley Scott might have made it a bit shorter. To sum up, a film to see be- cause the topic of Middle Earth and Romaā€™s Empire is so amazing for people who enjoy it. Gladiator -14- by Christian MEdrano RATE 8ā€™5/10
  • 15. T his is a science-fiction and drama film direct- ed by Christopher Nolan, with a cast led by Leonardo DiCaprio, as Dom Cobb, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Arthur and Ellen Page as Ariadne. These three characters with new high technology can induce a dream in people. Also they are who plan and man- age all the dreams. All the dreams are managed by their subconscious and the induced person. In the film characters have to deal with a difficult mission. That mission consist of introducing information into a mind, the most difficult thing to do in this spe- ciality. T he director, Christopher Nolan has the difficulty to make real a thing that is impossible in real life control dreams, but he finally can do it success- fully. Clearly, the best thing that we can see, on the film is the incredible soundtrack by Hans Zimmer. His composition makes a lot of sensations and creates a really good atmosphere. In summary it is mar- vellous. Maybe the only bad point, but not that bad, is the end, which is so fast and possi- bly, for some spectators, is not too clear. The end leaves the sensation that maybe Cobb is even in a dream. So to verify that youā€™d better see the film and draw your own conclusion. Inception This Story tells how Dom Cobb and his team go into the dreams to steal or have information. -15- by Marc lopez RATE 8ā€™8/10

E: Yes, I am preparing another album that is completely different from everything that Iā€™ve sung before, be- tween interviews and in my free time Iā€™m writing different ideas, but at the moment it is only that, an idea. M: I imagine that right now you are too busy, but are you prepar- ing any tour? Where would you like to do it? E: Yes, well Iā€™ve done one and I donā€™t rule out doing another in the USA, but I need to prepare it well and time is something that right now I do not have. First of all Iā€™d like to know how you feel after one of your songs has been the main one at the most seen film Fifty Shades of Grey. E: Really, Iā€˜m excited about this album with other singers. Iā€™m involved a lot and I think and I hope people realise about that when they are listening to my songs. M: Yes, it is. Have you noticed any positive impact from this album? E: Yes, the song ā€œlove me like you doā€ has been without any doubt a suc- cess around the world so many peo- ple know me because of the film. M: Well and apart from these pos- itive things, there will be some- thing negative, wonā€™t it? E: Not at all, although in some inter- views I have been asked questions like if I am sadomasochist, which seems surprising that simply the fact of doing the song for that film means that I support sadomasochism.
