2. PENDAHULUAN

Masalah obesiti di Malaysia berada pada tahap yang membimbangkan pada
semua peringkat umur. Hasil Tinjauan Morbiditi dan Kesihatan Kebangsaan
(NHMS) 2006 menunjukkan 29.1% lebih berat badan dan 14.0% obesiti di
kalangan orang dewasa.
Ianya berlaku disebabkan oleh amalan gaya hidup tidak sihat yang
diamalkan oleh masyarakat secara amnya termasuklah amalan pemakanan
yang tidak sihat dan kurang aktiviti fizikal.
Obesiti berkait rapat dengan masalah kesihatan yang lain terutamanya
penyakit darah tinggi, kencing manis, hiperlipidaemia yang merupakan
antara faktor risiko untuk mendapat penyakit kardiovaskular terutamanya
penyakit jantung iskemik dan stroke.

17. • Saringan awal risiko dan intervensi obesiti di kalangan kanak-kanak
adalah sangat penting bagi membantu mereka mengamalkan
pemakanan sihat dan aktiviti fizikal yang bersesuaian.
• Namun begitu, program sedemikian masih sangat kurang
dijalankan bagi membantu kanak-kanak obesiti ini
• Sekolah merupakan lokasi terbaik bagi menjalankan projek
intervensi obesiti di kalangan kanak-kanak kerana potensinya
sebagai tempat pendidikan awal dan pengamalan tingkahlaku yang
sihat.

20. RUMUSAN ANALISIS BMI
• Jumlah pelajar yang mengalami masalah
berlebihan berat badan dan obesiti di SK Tg
Karang adalah seramai 116 orang atau 20.8%.
• Jumlah pelajar lelaki yang mengalami masalah
berlebihan berat badan dan obesiti di SK Tg
Karang adalah seramai 54 orang atau 17.9%
• Jumlah pelajar perempuan yang mengalami
masalah berlebihan berat badan dan obesiti di SK
Tg Karang adalah seramai 62 orang atau 24.2%

KHUSUS
UMUM
Untuk mempromosikan gaya hidup
sihat terutamanya pemakanan sihat
dan aktiviti fizikal dalam kalangan
murid sekolah SK Tg Karang.
•Untuk mengetahui prevalen berlebihan berat badan dan
obesiti dalam kalangan murid SK Tg Karang
•Untuk mewujudkan ‘fitness center’ di peringkat sekolah
•Untuk membantu peserta mengurangkan indeks jisim tubuh
selepas tempoh setahun menjalani intevensi obesiti
•Untuk membantu peserta mengurangkan faktor risiko
kardiovaskular seperti hipertensi, diabetes mellitus dan
dislipidaemia selepas tempoh setahun menjalani intevensi
obesiti
•Untuk memperkasakan guru-guru sekolah mengenai
amalan cara hidup sihat untuk membantu peserta
menurunkan indeks jisim tubuh dan mengurangkan faktor
risiko kardiovaskular

Fitness Center SK Tg Karang telah dibuka secara rasmi
30 orang murid telah diumumkan secara rasmi sebagai
peserta Projek Intervensi Obesiti
Seramai 12 orang guru dilantik sebagai sukarelawan
bagi membantu murid dalam projek ini.
Seramai 500 murid dan ibu bapa mendapat manafaat
daripada pameran pelbagai agensi.
96 orang awam telah menjalani pemeriksaan kesihatan
secara percuma.

62. HASIL INTERVENSI
• Didapati seramai 17 orang atau 56.7% peserta berjaya
menunjukkan penurunan BMI walaupun hanya terdapat 16.7%
(penurunan berat badan) dan 40% (penurunan + pengekalan berat
badan)
• Hal ini disebabkan para peserta merupakan golongan awal remaja
yang masih dalam proses pertumbuhan (semua peserta
menunjukkan pertambahan tinggi antara 1cm – 5cm sepanjang
tempoh 6 bulan intervensi). Ini menjurus kepada penurunan BMI
walaupun terdapat kenaikan atau pengekalan berat badan.
63. HASIL INTERVENSI
• Dari segi aras tekanan darah, golongan peserta yang
menunjukkan penurunan ke tahap normal adalah
sebanyak 55.6%
• Perubahan positif juga boleh dilihat pada aras biokimia
(FBS dan kolestrol) dimana terdapat penurunan
parameter dari golongan tinggi paras kandungan gula
sebanyak 42.9% dan tinggi paras kolestrol sebanyak
33.3%

indeks jisim tubuh dan faktor risiko kardiovaskular
seperti hipertensi, diabetes mellitus dan
dislipidaemia.
67. LIMITASI KAJIAN
•Jadual akademik dan sesi pembelajaran yang padat
adalah faktor utama peserta tidak mempunyai masa
yang mecukupi untuk melakukan aktiviti fizikal secara
berkala.
•Faktor-faktor lain adalah makanan yang dijual di kantin
sekolah, pemakanan di rumah dan komitmen peserta
semasa mengikuti projek intervensi obesiti ini
68. KESIMPULAN / CADANGAN
Projek Intervensi Obesiti dalam kalangan
murid SK Tg Karang ini telah berjaya
mencapai objektif pelaksanaannya. Namun
begitu, faktor limitasi perlu diatasi bagi
projek pada masa hadapan bagi mencapai
kejayaan yang lebih baik

Select the first stop in the slider, and then do the following:
In the Position box, enter 33%.
Click the button next to Color, and then under Theme Colors select White, Background 1 (first row, the first option from the left).
Select the last stop in the slider, and then do the following:
In the Position box, enter 100%.
Click the button next to Color, and then under Theme Colors select White, Background 1, Darker 25% (fourth row, first option from the left).
