How can we address the issue of underrepresentation
of LGBTQIA community?
Activity 1:
About: Discussion with the individuals of LGBTQIA center
Hours: 1.5 hours
Location: LGBTQIA Center Connecticut College
Description:
● How do they feel?
● What makes them feel powerful?
● How do they want us to improve?
About: Discussion with the students around the campus
Hours: 1 hour
Location: LGBTQIA Center Connecticut College
Description:
● Ask them to paint or sketch something that motivates LGBTQIA members
● Student who would come up with the best message will be rewarded
● Cover of college magazine, top five works would be presented in the gallery, copy
of the best work would be distributed around the campus
Activity 2:
About: Visit to other colleges
Hours: 3 to 4 hours
Location: XYZ College
Description:
● Collaborate with LGBTQIA centers of other colleges
● Aware them about the initiative and ambition
Activity 3:
Activity 4:
About: Open Discussions
Hours: 1.5 to 2 hours
Location: XYZ colleges
Description:
● Interactive discussions, where the members of LGBTQIA community would be
given platform to ‘speak up’
● An open place
● Approachable guests
Activity 5:
About: Visit
Hours: 3 to 4 hours
Location: Remote or secluded places, public schools, small organizations
Description:
● Plan visits to conduct workshops and educate the audience about the matter
● Topics under discussion
Activity 6:
About: Awareness visits
Hours: 1 hour
Location: Public parks, Mall
Description:
● display the paintings (may be people can buy or take it for free)
● conduct short activities
Purpose
➢ Respect every identity in the community
➢ How do these individuals feel about facing hardships
➢ How do they feel about our acts towards them that
we just take for granted
➢ How can we help them by playing our roles
➢ Realization for people not to practice acts that hurt
LGBTQIA individuals
