The Schools Foundation’s purpose is to bridge together
community leaders, the business community and our schools. We support the Huntsville City, Madison City and Madison County school districts by providing enhanced professional development and learning opportunities for our principals and teachers which directly
impacts student success. These opportunities are made available through community philanthropic support. In 2015, we will continue to strive to deepen support for education
with the goals of increasing public awareness, commitment and engagement for our schools which, in turn, strengthens our community.

From the Executive Director: The Schools Foundation’s purpose is to bridge together

From the President of the Board: For over 15 years, The Schools Foundation has remained
focused on quality programs which enhance academic opportunities across the three
school districts in Madison County. We thank this community for partnering with us, for
helping launch new initiatives and for supporting our students.

Support Programs:
Principally Speaking Network:
• Builds a sustainable network of professional support to enhance the leadership skills of
principals, assistant principals, superintendents and administrators across Northern Alabama.
• Provides a professional development forum for cross-district collaboration, problem solving
and the opportunity to share best practices.
A+ College Ready:
• Empowers Advanced Placement (AP) teachers in Math, Science and English in our three
school districts through a results driven AP training program.
• Includes key components of teacher training through the National Math Science Initiative
(NMSI), vertical and horizontal team meetings, student prep sessions, and mock exams.
Laying the Foundation (Program now includes 3rd through 10th grades):
• Provides elementary, middle and high school teachers training through NMSI to build a
pipeline of students prepared for the rigors of Advanced Placement courses.
• Delivers instructional strategies, lessons, assessments and online resources for teachers.
Education Advocacy:
• The Schools Foundation conducts strategic engagement on many of the current and
pressing issues relating to education which affects our schools.
• Includes continuous interaction with the State Board of Education and elected officials.
