7. 天津是中国面积第三大城市，也是一个国家中心城市和直辖
市。天津在中国的北边，离北京 85 英里。坐快速铁路三十分
钟就到了。在历史上，天津的位置可以保护北京。天津的人口
是一千万，在中国城市里，人口密度是第四位。天津离黄海很
近，所以从几百年以前，就开始进出口贸易。现在，天津的经
济还是很强。天津最近的发展特别快，到处都是高楼和公司。
但是，因为发展得太快，城市有很多污染的问题。
天津文化最有意思的方面是平剧和泥人。平剧是天津
1923 年发明的一种戏剧 . 演员会一边唱歌，一边跳舞，讲一
个故事。泥人是一种古老的艺术，做泥人的艺术家会用手做出
来各种各样的小泥人。天津的泥人张非常出名。天津最好吃的
食物是狗不理包子，有 90 多种馅儿。还有一种有天津特色的
小吃是耳朵眼炸糕。炸糕是用糯米粉做的，里面有豆沙。
