DURING THIS LESSON YOU WILL LEARN HOW TO
USE PRESENT SIMPLE TO TALK ABOUT:
• Your daily routines
• What you do at work
• What you do in your free time
FIRST, LOOK AT THE FOLLOWING
SENTENCES.
WHAT DO THEY HAVE IN COMMON?
a) I usually get up at 7 am every morning.
b) You always spend most of your time with your
children.
c) In the evenings she reads books.
d) They often watch TV after dinner.
You are right!
Well done!
These sentences tell us about our everyday activities or routines.
Now pay attention to the structure of the sentences.

They all have action verbs:
get up, spend, read, watch
WHAT IS PRESENT SIMPLE?
We use Present Simple Tense
1)to talk about activities that we do again and again(every
day/week/month/year, always, usually, sometimes, often,
seldom).
Ex: We work here every day.
They always try to wake up early in the mornings.
WHAT IS PRESENT SIMPLE?
2) to talk about facts or something that is always true
Ex: The adult human body contains 206 bones.
The Earth goes round the Sun
