School of Nursing in 1921.
o In 1926 she was awarded BS & MA degrees in
nursing education from teachers college Columbia.
o Her interest in nursing evolved from helping sick &
wounded military personnel during world war I
o She was influenced by her nursing education &
practice.
o In 1955 Henderson first published her definition of
nursing.
o In 1966 Henderson clarified her definition based on
the sciences of physiology medicine, psychology &
physics,
