11. Working with a Prime
Work in partnership with your Prime
Work with a Prime that you respect.
You may not have the same value system i.e. Profit/Not for profit
However, they will want to deliver this contract successfully and
support your organisation to develop.
12. Working with a Prime
If it is your first ESF contract, you will need to work with your Prime
partner, to develop systems suitable to ESF:
Target & Performance management-based delivery system
Quality systems
Claims management system
Regular Programme Training
13. Working with a Prime
Further expectations will include:
Attendance in Contract Delivery Board meeting
Monthly/Quarterly Performance Reviews
Participation in Supply Chain activities (i.e. Ofsted)
Programme Financial Reviews
Quality Assurance Reviews
14. Get the right team
The most important element of an ESF programme is having the right
team in place.
They need to be:
Adaptable & open to change
Good engagement skills
Strong Information, Advice & Guidance, & support skills
Experience of Customer Relationship Management systems
Admin & claims forms skills
15. Get the right team
Unfortunately on an ESF programme, there is a lot of paperwork, so a
long side your Frontline team, you will need:
Administrator
Quality Assurance staff member
Project Manager
As a small organisation, you may have just one person doing all these
things, but the bigger the contract the more difficult this will be.
Whatever you internal staffing policy is, your Prime partner, will still
expect good performance on a monthly basis.
16. Final thoughts
Develop a strong delivery plan, which includes: Performance;
Quality; Finance; Prepare for the unexpected.
Find the right Team with the right skills
Check your Claims paperwork before submitting it
Monitor performance weekly
If something isn’t working, change it
Respect your Prime partner
Ensure the contract is in line with your Organisation’s objectives
