1. Understand what kind of value you are providing. Be focused on understanding next steps
in the value chain. Understand do you deliver value or waste for the end-user with numbers
2. Organize reporting of value delivery, Customers should know you are major part in a value
creation chain. Make sure all levels of Customer stakeholders have the same picture it is
you(EPAM) delivered a value
3. Get customer’s feedback continuously on the value delivery.
4. Educate and motivate internal stakeholders(engineers) to understand the value, value
chain and basics of engagement models.

Tactical steps
Team opportunity to make you different :
• Share Business updates with the team on a regular basis. Keep them in focus of the business,
but not just completing tasks.
• Talk about business and share more business updates during 1-2-1s, especially with those who
show the interest
• Challenge all refactoring tasks. Engineers should explain the value. If they can’t then help them to understand
system quality attributes and measure the improvement based on system quality attributes metrics.
• Organize team building or retrospective, where value topic is discussed.
Customer communication:
• Prepare for the Sprint review with Customer. Do the dry run and check you are demoing the value, but not just technical
staff with pieces of code. Show what kind of the business need was archived or where you are in progress.
• Prepare and setup MBRs/QBRs(Monthly/Quarterly business reviews) with Client and highlight what kind of
business need was resolved(saved costs, roadmap of product development), but not team productivity.
• Setup and conduct 1-2-1s with Customer stakeholders depending on your seniority and responsibility (POs, PMs,
Engineering managers, Directors)
