2. Equipment
• For IStopMotion you need to have the
application for your computer in order to use
it. You also need a camera, either built in or to
add to the top of the computer so the
animation can be filmed.
3. Characters
• For your character you need to firstly work out
if you are drawing the animation, if your going
to use whiteboard, if you going to use clay and
or are you going to use Lego.
• How will your characters work in your video,
what sort of movement will they do.
4. Set
• When doing an animation you need to work
out if you are using a back drop or if you are
going to use drawings to create the whole
atmosphere of your video.
• You can use the same materials that you are
using for your characters if you wanted to or
mix it around a bit.
5. Camera Shots/Movement
• With stop motion you have to take individual
pictures( 2 of each) to make sure you get a
good view of the picture before and not make
it too much of a quick movement.
• The camera shots depend on what type of
animation you are going for, if you were going
for the one like the Kindle advert then you
would have the camera up at a height
6. Editing
• Move the overlay slide bar just beneath and to the right of the working animation window all the way to the left
• Click the small round time display button below the overlay button to toggle between your frames and your time
display
• Select the small square button next to frame just beneath the time display button to bring up a clock that gives
you a frame of reference for how far you are into your animated movie as you edit individual frames
• Place your cursor over the series of gray boxes located beneath the working animation window and between the
overlay button and the time button. This brings up individual frames within the movie time sequence. The frames
are presented in a configuration like a smear of playing card. Select individual frames for editing with your cursor
• Delete a frame. Click on the frame and then drag it to the trash can
• Cut frames to change the order of the frame display. Click on a frame to edit. This brings up that frame in the
animation working box. Select out
• Past the cut frames back into the frame sequence at a new new location. Place the cursor at the point in the frame
sequence you want the frame to appear then select paste
7. Sound
• The sound you would use your animation
depend on what type of theme you are going
for
• The music would be able to help you to
workout what mood the advert is and the
viewers would be able to know what mood
you are going for.
8. Exporting
• To export from iStopMotion you have to
simply go to file then select export this will
then give you the option of where to export
the file to. Select desktop this will save the
animation to the desktop.
