My family took a Caribbean cruise over Christmas vacation, boarding the ship on December 24th. On Christmas Day, an unusual experience occurred when the ship stopped to arrest escaped Cubans. During the cruise, I explored the ship with a new friend and visited ports including Grand Cayman where we saw turtles and rode dolphins, Jamaica where my uncle and I went bobsledding, and Haiti where we toured a mock village. Overall, it was a memorable family vacation.

2. I’ve been on my fair
share of vacations.
My all time favorite,
however, was the
Caribbean cruise my
family and I took over
Christmas vacation.

3. We took three days to
drive to Ft. Lauderdale,
Florida, leaving on
December 20th. Those
were the longest three
days of my life. We
boarded the ship on the
24th.

4. After receiving keys, we
entered our room to
find the cutest towel
animal ever on one of
the king sized beds.

5. On Christmas Day, I got a once in a
life time experience. The ship
stopped for 5 hours in the middle of
the ocean, on the way to Grand
Cayman, to arrest some escaping
Cubans, who were recently in
prison for trying to escape.

6. I also met a new friend named Kelsey. We spent
most of our spare time exploring the ship.

7. When we finally made it to our first
port of call, Grand Cayman, my
family and I took a tour of a turtle
farm. We also rode dolphins.

8. The next day, we went to Falmouth, Jamaica. My
uncle and I went bobsledding in the jungle.

9. After bobsledding, we
went to Dunn’s River
Falls. Instead of
climbing around the
falls, our tour guide took
us up through the
middle, in the water.

10. Our last stop was
Labadee, Haiti. The
whole family took a
tour of a beautiful
mock village near
the cruise port.

11. Over all, I had a great time. It
was the best vacation ever
and we intend to do it again
soon.
