Born in 1941
Member of the Chinese Artists
Association
His paintings were shown and
published both in China mainland
and countries and regions such as
France, India, Japan, the U.S.,
Singapore, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
His works are collected in the
National Museum of China and
some art colleges.
4. Realism
Realism in the arts may be generally defined as the
attempt to represent subject matter truthfully,
avoiding artistic conventions, implausible, exotic and
supernatural elements.
Zou Chuan’an works are Gongbi, which is a careful
realist technique in Chinese painting.
The gongbi technique uses highly detailed
brushstrokes that delimits details very precisely and
without independent or expressive variation. It is
often highly colored and usually depicts figural or
narrative subjects.
