Our thriller film would be well-suited for advertising in Empire magazine. Empire is a major British film magazine that advertises large blockbuster movies as well as independent films. It has a wide international reach and targets males aged 16-25, which matches the target audience for our 15-rated thriller. Empire previously advertised the film Silent Hill, which featured the actress Jodelle Ferland who also appears in our film. Advertising in Empire could attract audiences interested in Ferland's work and generate buzz for our upcoming independent British thriller.
1. Question 4 - Who Would Be The Audience For Your Media
Product?
Why Our Thriller Is Suitable For EMPIRE
Our thriller film would fit in nicely I believe, into Empire magazine.
This is because it is one of the most well-known British film
magazines. Empire magazine normally advertises massive block
buster movies that are about to come out. However they also
advertise hopeful looking independent films as well. Our film
would be right for this magazine as the film is set and filmed in
Britain so it would attract lots of British people to go and see the
film. The magazine is not only published in Britain but also
America, Australia, Turkey, Russia and Portugal. This means it
would attract people from all over the world to see our media
product. Empire magazine has a target audience of males, aged
16-25 years old. This is suitable for our target audience as
our film certificate is 15 due to scenes of a gruesome/ violent
nature and some bad language.
Targeting a male audience works well with our product as
statistics show that men prefer watching thrillers than
women do.
Over all Empire magazine would be a really good choice of
film magazines for out media product to be advertised in due
to its spot on target audience that we aimed our film at and
the fame the magazine has. Big audiences means big
attraction to our upcoming independent British film. Also because Empire advertised the “Silent Hill”
film a few years back who features “JodelleFerland” who plays on of the victims within our thriller. This
would also attract a social group of people who enjoy her acting in a big movie such as “Silent Hill”
and “Case 39”.
A Review That Could Be Potentially Published of Our Media Product In Empire
„This year‟s up and coming independent British thriller “Unforgiven” is set to be a smash this
December in cinemas across the UK. This psychological thriller is something to play on your minds
this winter. DI Johnson is investigating a grim serial killer in the Scotland marshes. After his wife being
murdered 3 years ago, DI Johnson is put on the case to track down the serial killer who still remains a
mystery to the local police. Little do they know the serial killer is closer than they think. Mr Peterson is
a middle ages man, living on the edge of the marshlands of Scotland. Mr. Peterson (Alfred Harvey) is
a local landlord at the church grounds in the village. Mr. Peterson wouldn‟t hurt a fly. That‟s what the
villagers think. Little do they know, danger is right under their noses.
“Unforgiven” is a must see. From gloomy scenery to gruesome scenes, Unforgiven is not one for
lighthearters out there! The eerie setting of this film makes you feel utterly trapped with the victims of
the movie, with a “you can run but you can‟t hide” factor. As isolating and uncomfortable as The
Woman in Black and The Shining. Jason Digby plays an excellent role of the unfortunate and corrupt
DI to be plunged into the marshes to dig up the horrible truth of his wife‟s disappearance and brutal
murder. DI Johnson is tracking down the murderer of a local girl (JodelleFerland) who is suspected to
have killed Johnsons wife as well as 16 other young women in the village. A totally messed up Thriller
2. that all Jason Digby fans must see! Gripping and instense, Unforgiven is one to watch out for this
th
year! In Cinemas from 5 Decemeber 2013!
