2. Internet Protocol television (IPTV) is a system
through which television services are delivered using
the Internet, instead of being delivered through
traditional signal, and cable television formats.
It can be classified into 3 main groups;
Live television
Time-shifted television
Video on demand (VOD)
3. The number of global IPTV subscribers is
expected to grow from 28 million in 2009 to
110 million in 2014.

9. Set-top
boxes are expensive and if you want to watch
another channel on different TV you will have to buy
another box.
If the IPTV connection is not fast enough , picture
break – up or loss may occur.
Because
IPTV uses internet , it is sensitive to delays
if the streamed data is unreliable and also when the
customer decides to switch the channel.
10. IPTV is definitely a part of the future in
television, even though it only will be an option for
those with a high bandwidth broadband. But
hopefully all in India will have access to high
bandwidth broadband, though it probably will not
happen in the near future, then it would be an option
for everyone.
