  3. 3. Very new and innovative concept Non –Conventional Energy Source. This Makes Use OF WASTED OF ENERGY TO generate ELECTRCAL ENERGY.
  4. 4. A large amount of energy is wasted at the speed breakers through friction , every time a vehicle passes over it. So electricity can be generated using the vehicle weight (potential energy) as input. So, this is a small step to try to improve this situation. Speed breaker with some mechanism involved converts this wastage of energy into useful form.

  8. 8. Working principle  Simple energy conversion from Mechanical to Electrical.  To generate electricity using the vehicle weight (potential energy) as input.
  9. 9. •The material used in construction of speed breakers is steel. •The shape of speed breaker is parabolic.

  11. 11.  When vehicle passes over speed breaker, it moves downward due to weight of vehicle.
  12. 12.  Working of Electric Dynamo.  The magnetic lines of force are cut by the rotating wire coil, which induces a current to flow through the wire.  The mechanical energy of rotation is thus converted into an electric current in the armature.
  13. 13. Transfers rotary motion between two shafts.
  14. 14. The input gear transfers power to the output gear.
  15. 15. Converts rotational motion into linear motion.
  16. 16.  Here the reciprocating motion of the speed-breaker is converted into rotary motion using the rack and pinion arrangement.  Rack and pinion gears normally change rotary motion into linear motion, but sometimes we use them to change linear motion into rotary motion.
  17. 17.  The axis of the pinion is coupled with the sprocket arrangement.  The axis of the sprocket is coupled to a dynamo.  Finally the dynamo is coupled with the battery.  And with the help of battery we can light a bulb.
  18. 18. merits  Pollution free power generation  No manual work necessary during generation.  Energy available all year round.  Uninterrupted power generation during day and night.  Maximum utilization of energy.
  19. 19.  This mechanism is very economical and easy to install.  Two protocols of this type of speed breakers are developed in India .not practically implemented till date.  Practically implemented in New Jersey, China and Indonesia.  Lots of researches and investigations are going on to practically utilize this technique
  20. 20.  It can be implemented at metropolitan cities. so that more electric power is produced.  Arrangement of whole setup is easier.  The stored electricity could satisfy the daily requirement of electric power.
