meeting was held in
Cine city hotel which
covered a welcome
speech, a special
speech by the guests
and instruction to
the students and
youngsters on how to
clean and to handle
garbage. Also to ensure
their safety, gloves and
masks were provided
along with the cleaning
equipments.
The event was kick
started by Dr. S.
Lankeswaran, MD.,
Cine city hotels and
also Chairman of
Madras Knights Round
Table 181. And Mr.
LIC. M. Manikam,

Chennai Corporation.
On this the garbage left
unattended on the road
sides and debris were
cleaned completely,
garbage bins were
arranged properly
in its place and the
public were instructed
to throw garbage’s
only in garbage bins,
parking of vehicles
were made on one side
of the road in a proper
manner, platforms
were cleaned and
painted with black and
white, big size flower
pots were filled with
proper combination of
sand and mannur and
it was placed in the
road sides and at the
entrance of every house
and flats with flowering
plants planted in it.
Finally the residents
of the street were met
by the members of
AIM individually and
explained them about
the cleanliness and
also requested them
to take care of their
premises and the
flower pots placed at
their entrance.
At the end of the event
students were shared
their experience about
the event and ideas
following it a thanking
speech was made
to the students and
youngsters by Mr.
Balasubramaniam,
Nallor vattam. It
is the starting to
a bright future to
make the nation into
a developed nation
before 2020 on this
to make a clean and
green environment
we have planned to
come up nearly with
2000 youngsters on
Oct' 15 - Dr. Kalam's
birthday for a mass

or Adhesive
capsulitis is
a condition caused
by thickening and
tightening of the
capsule/ tissue
covering the shoulder
joint resulting in
pain and stiffness of
shoulder joint. The
condition sets in
gradually, worsens
over time and without
proper treatment the
pain and stiffness can
last up to two to three
years. Individuals
affected with this
condition often find
it difficult to comb
the hair, wash their
back, wear a shirt
and to reach things
above head level. This
condition is commonly
seen in persons with
diabetes, thyroid issue
high cholesterol levels
and tuberculosis. It
is also common after
any injury to shoulder
or a major surgery like
cardiac surgery or a
stroke.
The disease is
characterised by three
stages
Stage 1 / Freezing
stage: Gradual onset of
shoulder pain and the
painkeepsincreasingin
severity with time. Any
movement at shoulder
will increase the pain
and the affected person
restricts his shoulder
movements to avoid
pain.. This stage lasts
from 6 weeks to 9
months
Stage 2 / Frozen stage:
Pain diminishes in this
stage but the shoulder
is very stiff that most of
the daily activities like
combing hair, wearing
shirt becomes difficult.
This stage lasts for 6
months to 1 year.
Stage 3 / Thawing
stage: Movements
return to an extent
and individuals adapts
their daily routine
within the possible
shoulder movements.
The treatment for
frozen shoulder
depends on the stage
the patient is in and
aims to relieve pain and
to restore movements
of the shoulder joint.
Treatment options
include medications,
joint injections,
stretching program,
manipulation under
anaesthesia and in
resistant cases key
hole arthroscopic
surgery to release the
tight structures and
adhesions to restore
movement. Asian Joint
reconstructioninstitute
(AJRI), the orthopaedic
institute at SIMS
hospital Vadapalani
offers comprehensive
shoulder care by
experts in this field. The

shoulder care program
which is very effective
in the management of
frozen shoulder and
