Mise-en-scene
Our initial ideas plan is very general and lacks the detail needed to help us execute our video. So, we discussed many of the ideas further and into more detail, deciding that some visual aid would help us express our ideas. Here are some image examples of our initial ideas
Night/Day This image shows our idea of having a video that consists of footage filmed both at day and night. The reason for this is because it adds diversity to the video and will keep the audeince interested, whilst giving us the opportunity to capture footage at night with perks such as empty streets and city lights.
Guitar One possible idea that we had was to have our main character holding a guitar or other instrument. This will help the target audience relate to the main character as my deduction of the target audience enjoy playing an instrument themselves, or enjoy listening to one being played.
Costume change One idea that we had was to have our main character constantly changing various items of clothing instantly whilst walking along. A hat is an example of a piece of clothing that we would change as various hats are easily obtainable and will draw the audiences attention to our characters head, to highlight his facial expressions.
Examples of costume change
Location: Residential One type of location that we want to use is long straight residential areas as they provide us with good surroundings and mise-en-scene to have a "walking themed" video to. The buildings and cars will give the video a normal look to it, which will emphasise the random costume and prop changes.
Location: Town Another location that we want to include a town/high street as it will offer a busy surrounding that will differ from the more quite ones involved in our video. Also a high street is an every day place that the audience will be able to relate to easily.
Location: Rural Including a rural location such as woods will give the video diversity of locations which will help keep the audience enticed. Whilst wooded areas are easy to find and many will have footpaths in like the one above which is key for our "walking video".
Shot Type The mid-shot shown in the image above is the type of shot that we would like to use for the main bulk of our video with the camera tracking backwards whilst fixed on our character walking along. This is because this technique is unique and will stand out. We will use a wide variety of other shots in the video as well, however this is the will be the main one..
