6. Media Center Policy The JCCHS media center does not have an individual policy. It has adopted the system wide policy. This policy is “Jackson County School System is committed to the relentless pursuit of educational excellence.” This policy means that all Jackson County schools are to pursue educational excellence in all areas by any means necessary. In the media center, this means that we have to have as many materials available for the students as possible. It also means that the media center has to be inviting so that the students are willing to use its resources.
8. Media Center Location The media center at JCCHS is located in the front of the school. When you walk through the entrance, the media center is through double doors located on the left side of the hallway. The media center can be accessed easily by all classrooms on the main campus. 10. Storage Room The storage room in the media center is located to the left of the offices behind the circulation desk. This room contains all of the equipment that teachers can borrow for their classroom such as televisions and VCRs. Also in this room is the cold laminator. The yearbooks are all archived here.
11. Computers The media center has twenty-three computers. Twenty of the computers are on either side of the main section of the media center. The other three computers are beside the circulation desk. These three computers are used by the drivers education students when they are not driving.

23. Conclusion The JCCHS media center is small, but there is so much that can be done with the space. If the room were rearranged the students could be more easily supervised. Also, the media center could be more inviting and organized if it were rearranged. The individual components of the media center are not in bad shape, minus the table in the back of the room with the broken leg. This means that the things (such as tables, chairs and shelves) in the media center can be used to make the media center a more inviting and educational space for the students and faculty.
