7. Florida (Because Josh is going on holiday there)- local shop We’ve chosen these places because they’ll provide a contrast in environments and will all involve different characters and locations. Ending:We are liking the idea of the £5 note ending up back with the child who’s birthday card it was in, and ending up in his jeans pockets and being washed and ruined in the washing machine.
8. Characters The £5 note, because even though it is an object we still want the audience to see it as a character. The child, who receives the money in the beginning and leaves it in his pocket at the end. Taxi driver Waiter, receiving a tip Shop owners Robber
9. Locations Shops Family living room Restaurant Pub – The Rose & Crown, Cannington In a taxi On the street Florida Betting shop
10. Cart This is the short film, Cart, which inspired us to create our own about an inanimate object. We’ve realised that Jesse Rosten, the director, has made the cart more like a human by the camera shots used and the choice of music made.
11. Style and form Our inspiration is a short film called Cart, we’re aiming for a similar style to this: a simple story-telling drama. All we want to do is show the story of this one £5 note over time. Because we are Pikachu Productions we thought we could use Pokémon merchandise throughout the scenes to make ‘our mark’. For example, the money could fall out of a Pokémon Birthday card, there could be posters for games in the street and toys in the shops.
12. Plan b Locations: We’re already making a list of backup locations incase we don’t get permission to use a specific place or if there are other difficulties such as traffic stopping us from getting there. For example, we’ll be asking several different pubs and shops for permission to film inside, so if for any reason we can’t go to one we’ll have another. Actors: Regarding actors we have quite a long list of different characters we need so the plan is to start looking for actors as soon as possible. We’re going to try to get backups for every actor and be sure not to use a character we can only get one actor for on one date. What if...? Last year during AS we found that equipment became a difficulty, so this year we’re going to double check that we have enough batteries that are all fully charged, and before leaving to shoot make sure everything’s working properly. We also found that the weather became an issue last year as it became very cold so we know to check the weather forecasts often and to record as much as possible as soon as possible so that we don’t risk letting the weather get worse. Organisation: This year we’re going to make a strict timetable to make sure we have enough time for everything, as last year we were still editing on the day of the deadline.
