2. I’m a User Experience designer with a solid background in
User-centered design process and experience in Lean Startup
methodologies. I have worked both inside a corporation’s UX
team and at an agile design studio. I’m able to iterate design
process in a fast-paced working environment and collaborate
with cross functional team members.
Started as an software engineer in my career and studied
library science and user-centered design training, I see things in
both analytical and design thinking perspectives. I am
passionate and confident that I can leverage this mindset and
skill set to create solutions and enhancements to the interactive
experience between people and technology.

4. An integrated account management applications for financial advisors
• About the project
- Enable financial advisors to perform cash
management transactions seamlessly
• Time
- September 2014 - December 2014
• Role
- I am the UX designer for the first transactional
feature, cash management, of Veo One
- Worked closely with our business analyst and the
subject matter expert at the client side to
understand the domain knowledge and workflow of
cash management
- Collaborated with other UX designers of other
features to establish the UX framework (such
as navigation) that could be scalable for future
release
- Partnered with our visual designer to align the
the user experience and visual aesthetics
5. • Identifying use cases, workflow and pain points

with SME and product owners to identity main use
cases, current user pain points and functional
requirements for cash management

6. • Sketching out the page flow
- With the understanding of use cases and
workflow, I proceeded to sketch out page
flow with low fidelity wireframes to
visualize my understanding and validated it
with BA and clients
7. • Brainstorming the layout and interaction patterns
- After validated workflow with BA, SME, and product
owners, I began to sketch out possible interaction
options and brought out to our team discussion
- Realizing the financial advisors are busy and
multitasking frequently, the main goal of the
solution is to reduce the user clicks and provide
contextual supporting information
8. • Communicating pros and cons of each
interaction options to the clients
- To get the client’s buy in of our recommended
solutions, I created low-fidelity wireframes of
different interaction options and analyzed the pros
and cons of each option.
9. • Designing for heavy-duty keyboard users
- Most of users are heavy-duty keyboard users, so
the design has to support at least basic keyboard
shortcuts
- I brainstormed with our UX team to come up with
the design solution that supports users to find
accounts, switch accounts and correct typos
- Since the application is a responsive design, I also
created detailed wireframes to document different
scenarios that how the users use keyboard or touch
gestures to complete tasks

align with user experience
11. A personalized dashboard-like HR Portal
• About the project
- An enterprise-level human resources portal for the
largest bank in the U.S. The design serves as a
dashboard that surface information through widgets
and call to actions links
• Time
- June 2013 - October 2013
• Role
- When I joined the company, the project was shifting
from conceptual designs to detailed design, my
main role was creating detailed design wireframes
for development phase
- I was in charge of category landing pages, content
pages and the mobile application of HR portal
- Worked with business analyst to create functional
requirement documents
- Collaborated with UX lead to establish UX design
framework
- Partnered with our visual designer to align the
the user experience and visual aesthetics
12. • Defining site structure and information
architecture
- Worked closely with content strategist and UX lead
to analyze the information architecture of the
current HR portal
13. • Wireframing
- Based on the user research results that the client
provided, many users complained that they can’t
find things.
- We found the old HR portal mixed content and
action links together, there’s no priorities of each
piece of information.
- The challenge was how to strike a balance between "call
to action" and "content reading" two types of tasks.
- The solution was using widget icons to distinguish "action
items" from plain content to help users navigate the site
and find things that they are interested in
14. • Wireframing - mobile
- The mobile site is designed to be a quick and
handy self-service HR portal. Worked with UX team
at client side to identify frequently requested HR
tasks, and listed out tasks that have widgets and
related mobile apps or web to support.
- Each widget surfaces related information and
provides links to the mobile optimized sites for
detailed information of the task if any

19. A digital workplace mobile application
• About the project
- A digital workplace iOS mobile application that
allows the user to view their requests, work to-do’s,
corporate announcements on the go
• Time
- December 2014 - January 2015
• Role
- The project already has desktop design of the
digital workplace when I joined the project. I was in
charge of providing design concepts for the mobile
application design
20. • Sketching out navigation patterns
- With the understanding of information architecture, I proceeded to
brainstorm and sketch out different navigation patterns and design
options
21. • Documenting the page flow
- I created the page flow to help myself and clients understand how to
leverage the native push notification features as a contextual entry to
attract user get in to the appellation
22. • Leveraging iOS 8 Today widget design
- Too many native push notifications sometime could
cause too many noises for users, therefore I looked into
iOS 8’s Today widget feature as an alternative
contextual entry to the application.
- Today widget provides a summary of the digital
workplace. User can tap on each item to view details in
the application
23. • Creating animated click-through wireframes
- To better demonstrate the interaction, I used power
point to create animated click-through wireframes with
user journey descriptions:
http://youtu.be/Md3ykFG7vFQ
24. • Presenting different design options’ pros and cons
- I created low-fidelity wireframes for other navigation
patterns and listed out the pros and cons of each
options based on the information architecture and the
scalability
25. Canadian Stock Transfer proxy voting site redesign
• About the project
- An online proxy voting site redesign
• Time
- July 2013 - August 2013
• Role
- UX designer
- Partnered with our visual designer and front-end
developer to make the design responsive
26. • Sketching out user flow
- Based on business requirement document, I
created flowchart and hi-level user flow diagram to
document the user flow and validated it with client
stakeholders before wireframing.
- Due to some special use cases and complicated
workflow, there were several iterations with client’s
business analyst to finalize the user workflow.
27. • Wireframing
- After finalizing the user flow with the clients, I
proceeded to wireframe the interaction and layout
with the consideration of being responsive across
different devices
- I used sketchy feel stencils to create wireframes
during the early design iteration so that the design
could be viewed as changeable and organic. This
encouraged clients to provide feedback and
comments on the layout and user interactions
28. • Partnered with the visual designers to transform the desktop experience into
responsive design
- The project has a short timeline, after finalizing the user interaction on desktop, I worked
with the visual designer to create user experience on tablet and mobile

29. Thomson Reuters Trial Balance Manager
• About the project

trial balance data.
• Time
- July 2012 - August 2012
• Role
- UX designer for help system, landing page,
message center and contact information page
- Worked with business analyst and UX manager to

- Interviewed with the UX manager and business analyst to understand business goals and
usability goals
- Conducted competitive analysis of other comparable applications to understand the
strengths and weakness of their application design

and how to make landing page self explain the system main functions to first time users
- Presented these sketches to the UX team, business analyst and technical writer for

33. • Wireframing
- I used static wireframes to validate the layout, control
elements and workflow with the UX manager and

Mockup to developers and explained the interactions
that the user would experience when using the
application
- Validated these interactions with lead developer to make
sure that development team's technology could support the
interaction design.
34. • Prototyping
- Transformed these wireframes into interactive
prototypes through Adobe Fireworks
- Demonstrated these prototypes to the UX manager,
business analyst, technology lead and product
managers
- Received positive recognition from the managers, and these
prototypes will be tested with target users after I finished my
internship
