Using online delivery can enhance or enable student learning. There are a range of pathways for online learning for students, whether it is totally online, blended or standalone activities. As web-enabled mobile technologies become increasingly integrated into formal learning environments, they are merging to create a new kind of classroom: CrossActionSpaces (informal-in-formal spaces) in which communicative learning takes place across traditional boundaries. The term offers a view from social sciences, emphasizes a change of human action: from pure inter-action into cross-action. Under these new conditions the question are: how to conceptualize and design for learning, how can teaching helps learning? In this keynote, Isa Jahnke presents the framework of Digital Didactical Designs (DDD) which can be used to study and to reflect on educational practices toward deeper learning expeditions.

Based on data form a range of ACODE Surveys over the last 12 months, and other industry data, there have been some distinct trends emerge that suggest that institutions are taking a fresh look at how they conduct teaching and assessment, longer term. Much of this has been predicated on what was necessary to deal with lock-down situations due to COVID-19, but more recently this has allowed institutions to consider the longer-term advantages in accommodating different forms of assessment, those that have traditionally fallen out of what was considered ‘normal’, most notably the ‘exam’. This shift in thinking has also extended to what institutions considering different forms of delivery of their core content, with there being a distinct shift away from what has been the mainstay for centuries, the ‘Lecture’. This shift has allowed for more authentic forms of delivery, ones based in more collaborative and active approaches. This presentation with provide a summary of some of the key data and share some examples of how some institutions are approaching the next few years, as uncertainty around the short-term future of in-person learning and teaching persists.

'Digital bloom' is an abstract collection of digital stories which capture/reveal individual meanings of digital literacy. Users can see other people's stories and they can also add to them. During the demonstration, the participants could explore the installation, learn more about the project and would be able to add their own stories and understandings of digital literacy and create their own 'meadow'. In this session, presented at SUNY CIT 2014 at Cornell University, we described the successful collaboration between the Purchase College Library and the Teaching, Learning, and Technology Center. An environment conducive to partnership and the exchange of ideas has fostered numerous projects that have enhanced student learning, deepened relationships with teaching faculty, and improved workflows. This presentation aims to share how the learning process of curation, reflection and evidencing of learning outcomes were used as an approach to showcase the learning product of an assessment task through storytelling in a postgraduate Leadership unit at the Deakin Business School. In addition, we will share particular insights to the ‘iterative’ and ‘agile’ approach taken to continuous improvement of the assessment task over three trimester offerings of the unit, based on the lived experiences of a multi-disciplinary unit team. A keynote presentation for the Online Teaching Pathways for Early-Career Criminologists & Sociologists by University of Glasgow, Hong Kong University, U21. Abstract: We have all had to pivot rapidly from teaching face-to face to teaching fully online and have learned many lessons along the way, in a particularly short space of time. In many cases, if our IT groups and vendors had not equally risen to the occasion this would not have been possible. However, what has been observed is that those who have fared better over these recent months have been those institutions with well-established frameworks in place to mediate their technology-enhanced learning (TEL). That is, they have recognised processes that define how they translate what is in policy, procedures and planning into practice with appropriate IT scaffolding. Such a framework can be found within a number of TEL quality tools, that are designed to provide an institution with clear guidelines as to what things need to be in place to facilitate a robust and consistent approach to teaching with technology. Once these things are in place it makes it possible to undertake online teaching that does more than just mimic face-to-face practice, but actually provide a the foundation for innovative pedagogies to thrive. One concept associated with this is the notion that students can be productive and typically, this means the TEL has, or can become far more, active, authentic and collaborative.

Despite Blackboard (Bb) LMS existing at Notre Dame for some years, the use of Organisations (known at Notre Dame as Community Sites) to enhance academic development especially in the area of promoting and exemplifying best practice is relatively recent. It became obvious in the light of the University's decision to progress and promote blended learning primarily using Bb LMS that staff required specific resources in a dedicated location and moreover, as benchmarks for best practice. eLLE was established by the authors to share practice and to build staff capacity for creating excellent e-learning opportunities for students. eLLE is also a unique vehicle for academic development as the enterprise creators are presented not as experts in the field of blended learning (which could be overwhelming) but as a practitioner with a great idea worth sharing and the willingness to show others how to create a similar resource. eLLE was primarily intended as a vibrant _community site_providing a 'how to' in developing blended learning resources. It has quickly become a 'what to', 'why to' and 'go to' in the suite of staff development offerings within eLearning at Notre Dame. The only question that remains for eLLE now is, 'where to'? A presentation to the English Australia Ed Tech Symposium - Plenary Address. But for some, this has been nothing new, instead it’s simply been business as usual.
