The Content & Format
The content keeps the target audience interested by
relating to what the drink is associated with. Relentless
Energy is a drink about variety and music, thumbnails of
festivals and playlists linking to pages creates a more
interesting, relevant intake for the surfer. The producers
have also used a pulsing animated audience theme for the
backgrounds design to add to the element of partying and
music. The site has also used social network links to its
advantage and has included links to the brands social
networking accounts so the user can tell their friends, and
support the brand as a fan club.
Layout & Navigation
The layout follows a classic, formal layout
with a single vertical navigation bar that.
Below the navigation bar is the main focus
of the website. This is smaller and pushed
away from the other articles and links to
signify their importance. the main focus of
the page is the variety of Energy drinks.
Below, smaller pictures link to other
articles that will also be of interest for the
consumer such as festivals, parties, drinks,
competitions and music.
Next a horizontal group of tabs link to
different parts of the website which the
surfer may be interested in e.g. All posts,
News, Galleries, Music, Videos, enabling
the user to define their search. The rest of
the links are formatted as small thumbnails
in order to enable you to easily access the
information that you want.
Regulation - The internet is a place where literally anything can be posted. However due to this site being a commercial site the rules are different for it. The website must comply to
certain rules set by the ASA. Relentless must advertise fairly and accurately and make sure the product does what it is advertised to do, give the users energy. Online advertising
behaviour is also in regulation with the ASA as the option to track cookies is now a user choice and therefore is heavily regulated by the authority.
Primary Focus & Style & Target Audience
The website makes ts statements through the use of
images with descriptive text which appear bold and
hard hitting to the surfer. This appeals to the target
audience that is of young males around 14-25 years old.
Mostly links are shown in the thumbnail which enables
the surfer to open, and spend more time on if they so
choose. By attracting the audience through the bold
focus image of the variety of Relentless Energy Drinks,
and music festivals throughout the page, the user is led
on to believe that by purchasing this drink they will be
living life as if it were a party. The audience is mostly
party and festival goers that enjoy the partying type of
lifestyle and believe that consuming the drink will
enable them to party harder.
Purpose & Function
The purpose of the product designed to inform the
users about the events and news that relentless has to
offer as well as the different types of drinks they
produce. Relentless energy can be seen in festivals at
the "relentless tent" in which the tent plays live party
music and promotes their brand of drink such as one
of the main UK Festivals Reading & Leeds Festival. The
website enables surfers to view Relentless'
information in one place. It is a place where the users
are invited to various parties and feel like part of a
festival goer community. This makes the users
fantasize about being at festivals when sat at home
looking at the pictures and advertisements of festivals.
