The purpose of the advert is to get people to stop smoking but not just for them self but for the people around
them.
The connote of this advert is that you are hurting your kids every time you smoke by watching the parents do it
they will think its ok to do it as well and second hand smoke can also be very dangerous for young children.
The codes and conventions in this advert are the time of the video is under 1 minute and it means that it can
keep the viewers attention. All the way through the video the kids are copying the parents doing lots of different
things like kids always do and if you do bad things like smoke the kids will copy. But the advert also does not
follow the codes and conventions as through the video it very bright and happy until the end witch is unlikely due
to the message they are trying to send.
The target audience is smoking parents and people who smoke near kids.
I know this due to the fact that there is always a kid that is happy as they copy the parents doing normal house
tasks and then the kids copy the parent smoking but this time the kid does not look happy.

The over all purpose of this advert is to show that kids need to learn of their parents so when the parents are doing
bad things like smoking it is hurting there kids more than they know because if they think its ok to smoke and then they
start it could cause real problems later on in the kids life and also smoking near kids at a young age could cause
problems in the near future.
I know this due to the layout of the video it starts by showing the kids copying the parents and then at the end of the
video shows the kid copying the parent smoking.
The video is deigned to show that smoking is bad for you and your kids this is done by showing the kid happy through
out the video while doing things with there parents but when the kid copy's the parent smoking the kid looks sad. We
don’t see this as an upset face as we are in a (over the shoulder shot) but the side of the kids and their body language
shows sadness.
As the video goes on the background gets slightly darker starting from a bright yellow kitchen to ending on a brown
kitchen showing through out the video that its going to end badly for the kids.
