1. My strongest skill is concept generation
and problem solving. I love creating
innovative solutions for design problems.
I regularly use 3D modelling and
rendering in programmes inc. Rhino,
3DS Max, Solidworks & Blender.
I’m experienced using Illustrator on a
wide variety of tasks inc. packaging,
POS, logos, website & presentations.
I frequently edit product images and
make lifestyle visuals, ensuring that
I use a non-destructive process.
I convey ideas quickly with pen & paper.
I also use a Wacom graphics tablet on
a daily basis.
Additional Skills: 3D Printing, Wordpress, Prezi, Model Making, Sewing
Factory communication (primarily in
China), creating technical drawings
& providing feedback for samples.
SKILL EXPERIENCE
I have acquired a solid understanding of
manufacture and humanistics from over
3 years in industry and my degree at
Bournemouth University. To date I have
taken over 50 products from concept to
shelf which have been featured in
worldwide media such as the BBC, New
York Times and The Telegraph.
EMPLOYMENT
EDUCATION
ThumbsUP is a fast-paced home & gift ware company. I was invited back
after a placement due to my diverse skill set and ability to learn skills quickly
under pressure. I’d be responsible for a wide variety of design projects and
managing ever-emerging deadlines.
My primary role was to bring new ideas to the table and see these
through to production. In addition I did the graphic design for a lot of the
web images, logos, brochures, POS and packaging. I also created the
company’s stand for trade events which was nominated for ‘Best at show’ at
the NEC Spring fair.
While operating as a freelance designer I have worked on multiple projects
to widen my experience and skill set. I’ve also focused a lot of time into
furthering my own product ideas and entered numerous competitions to
keep my product design skills sharp.
Bournemouth University covered a broad range of topics inc. Physics,
Psychology, CAD, Model Making & Business. This taught me my key
strengths and gave a solid understanding of how other areas operate.

2. BENDTO BOX
An example of one the product concepts I have been developing in my spare time
while operating as a freelance designer. Bendto Box is a stylish & compact lunch
box solution. Designed to collapse to almost half the size, making it practical when
travelling and easy to store. Created in Solidworks & rendered in Blender.
BUDDY BAG
For my final year project I created a live brief with the charity MedicAlert to design a
backpack for children with diabetes. This aimed to alleviate the perceived stigma of
the condition and provide clear instructions in the event of an emergency. During the
project I taught myself to sew and received a first for my prototype.
NINJA MUG
After being inspired by a tea cup wrap around cosy I designed the Ninja Mug.
In addition to the ninja mask cosy I included a sword style teaspoon and shuriken
coaster to complete the look. The mug has taken off worldwide and is even in a you
tube video with over 1.5 million views.
