2. Typography
Fonts;
The fonts I have used are san – serif these are used in most magazines because they
attract younger audience’s to the front cover because the wording style is more creative and
informal then just plain text, I have used them in red, black and yellow colours. I used the
colour red to show the aggression and gore involved in some of the imagery and to express
the wording to the reader, I also used black because it is used in conventional rock
magazines and helps to make the words bolder to make the magazine look more
aesthetically pleasing and to also emphasise the words to the reader. The titles are written in
bold and are of a huge font size this is so they stand out and catch the reader’s eye and also
make the magazine look more packed and enticing to read.

3. Images
I have used several images on my magazine, and have used many different shot type to
represent the artist’s expression and mise-en scene so the reader can see what there
wearing in the photo. I have used low shots to show depression on the artists face and
used lower lighting to portray the dark feelings inside him, I also used a low shot so
everything is included in the photo and the reader can see what costumes and props the
artist has on. I have also used mid shot photos to show the artist face and the top part of
there body I used shots like these on my contents page and on my smaller cover images.
The expressions I have used are anger, depression and laidback; I used these because
all heavy metal magazine present these expressions in their images and are
convectional to the heavy metal genre of music.
