Guidelines for using power point

  1. 1. • Along with the Home tab, the Ribbon is made up of several tabs
  2. 2. • Here are all the things you might want to put on a slide — from tables, pictures, diagrams, charts, and text boxes to sounds, hyperlinks, headers, and footers

  4. 4. • Choose a complete look for the slides that encompasses background design, fonts, and color scheme. Then customize that look.
  5. 5. Step 1: In the Design Tab, choose a preexisting template Step 2: Click on “Background Styles”
  6. 6. Step 3: Pick one of the “Background Styles” for your template
  7. 7. Step 4: You can also change the “Theme Colors” for your preexisting template You can choose one from the list or click on “Create new theme colors” to customize your own.
  8. 8. Step 5: A new pop-up window will appear where you can modify the colors of the theme you chose. Some of the options represent the bullet color, others represent background or font color for the titles and body.
  9. 9. Step 1: Click the “Background” button on the “Design Tab” or right-click anywhere on the slide and choose “Format Background”.
  10. 10. Step 2: A new pop-up window will appear where you choose between three options: 1) Solid fill 2) Gradient fill 3) Picture or texture fill
  11. 11. Solid fill: allows you to Step 1: Choose one of the “Theme” or “Standard” colors change the color of the background as well as change the transparency (intensity) of the color. Step 2: Customize your own color
  12. 12. Gradient fill: allows you to set a more attractive mixture of colors as the background instead of a single solid color. You can choose from several preset colors or create your own by editing the type and changing the color.
  13. 13. Picture or texture fill: allows you to set different textures or even a custom picture for a texture. You can choose from several textures or insert a new picture by using the “Insert from” feature. *Remember: Click “Apply to All” so that every slide has the same background.
  14. 14. Animations Tab: All the animating effects are here. Basic animations for lists or charts are the easiest to add by clicking on “Custom Animation”. *Remember: Click “Apply to All” so that every slide has the same transition or animation.
  15. 15. • Slide Show tab: Allows you to view the slide show presentation, record narration, run through the show, and do other preparatory things.
  16. 16. • Review tab: Find the spelling checker and other research tools.
  17. 17. • View tab: Make a quick switch to Notes Page view, turn on gridlines or the ruler, organize the layout in the Slide Master view or arrange all your open presentations in one window.
  18. 18. • Tabs as you need them: – You'll notice uniquely colored tabs that appear and disappear on the Ribbon as you work. These are contextual tabs, which contain special formatting tools for items like pictures and graphics. – Among these are: • Picture Tools • Table Tools • Drawing Tools
