In 1895, Daniel David Palmer
founded the study of
chiropractic. He believe that
many physical programs were
rooted in the nervous system
and could be treated through
spinal adjustments and other
forms of hands-on care.
Though the profession has
developed a lot since then, it
remains faithful to his basic
philosophy. When a patient
first visits a chiropractic
office, the chiropractor asks
the patient about his or her
medical history and examines
the problem area. The
chiropractor also make take

Manual manipulations of the spine and other joints
in the body has been around for a long time.
Ancient writing from China and Greece dating
between 2700 B.C. and 1500 B.C. mention
spinal manipulation and the maneuvering of the
lower extremities to ease low back pain. In
fact, Hippocrates, the famous Greek physician
who lived from 460 to 357 B.C., published a
text detailing the importance of manual
manipulation. In one of his writing he declares,
“Get knowledge of the spine, for this is the
requisite for many diseases”. Evidence of
manual manipulation of the body has been
found among ancient civilizations of the
chiropractic profession dates back to 1895
when David Palmer restored the hearing of
Harvey Lillard by manually adjusting his neck
and something told him that he was on to
something goods. Two years later, in 1897, Dr.
Palmer went on to begin the Palmer School of
Chiropractic in Davenport, lowa, which
continues to train doctors of chiropractic to
this day. Throughout the twentieth century,
the profession of chiropractic has gained
considerable recognition and scientific
support. Research studies that have cleanly
demonstrated the value of chiropractic care
in reducing health care costs, improving
recovery rates and increasing patient
satisfaction. In fact, one vey large study
conducted in Canada, the 1993 Manga Study
concluded that chiropractic care would save
hundreds of millions of dollars annually in work
disability payments and direct health care

be a able to get a bachelor in science. After those 4 years I will go to medical
schools to become a pediatrician. I have to many choices like go to Miami and
start my education there and other school around Florida, but am going to stay in
Houston because those two schools offered me the opportunities that am looking
for. HCC offered my a good price for those 2 year of college and is close to my
house I don’t have to spend a lot of money in gasoline, I don’t have to wake-up to
early in the morning, they are offering me 2 days of weekly. In the other hand I
choose the University of Houston because I think that I have better educational
skill that they may help me more to achieve my bachelor in science , it is a little
expensive but you can apply for financial aid and they will give you some money
for you start. Am not sure in what medical school I will like to attend yet, but
am thinking of the University of Texas Health Science that is located in
