Personal Narrative: My First Job
My first job was at 7–eleven in Monmouth Junction by South Brunswick as a sales associate,
specifically, the designated coffee maker. Despite the fact that I really did not need to work there,
my father told me it would be an amazing learning experience and he was right. The shift I
worked was from 5:00 AM to 10:00 AM, Monday to Friday and I was told to greet customers and
ensure that the coffee pots were never empty. Despite this easy task I quickly found myself having
trouble due to the fact that it was a mindless job which required no skills beyond training to make
coffee. Fortunately, I learned a lot through my summer working there as I met customers from all
walks of life, so poor that they were not allowed in and so wealthy they could

Personal Narrative: My First Job
Most people do not get a job their freshman year because they are not yet fifteen, do not want one,
or are worried about grades. However, when the opportunity presented itself, I was ready to get
my first job working as a salad girl at a family restaurant in Washington. One day when my family
was eating at the Italian restaurant Bernardi's, I was taking the check up to the register when a
family friend joked, "Hey, are you working tonight?" I awkwardly shrugged and replied, "I guess?"
They laughed and went to their seats. I brought the credit card and receipt back to my table, where
my family was sitting. My dad had heard what they said, and he told me, half–seriously, "Well,
maybe you do need to get a job." I shrugged, not sure where or how I would get a job, and I was
nervous about applying for it and making a resume. Then Nick, the manager, came to our table and

I gave the papers to Nick, and he introduced me to the person who was training me, Anthony. He
was a tall redhead, wearing sagging jeans barely held up by a rainbow belt. He showed me where
to get aprons and cleaning rags, and then took me to the kitchen. It was bigger than I thought it
would be, with a back room and a main room. There were five large fryers on one wall, next to the
grill. In front of them was what the staff called the "window." The cooks placed hot food there
before serving to keep it warm. The salad station was on another wall, and it had its own separate
cooler, like a refrigerator, for all the ingredients in salads, especially the dinner salads. Anthony
showed me where everything was, which salad dressings are which, how to make coleslaw, and
what to do at closing time. He also taught me how to make certain desserts, which was fun. Anthony
explained that he was not quitting, but being promoted. He was going to work as the "fry guy" who
prepares and cooks all the fried

My First Job Experience
My First Job Experience "Winning is important to me, but what brings me real joy is the
experience of being fully engaged in whatever I'm doing." says Phil Jackson, a former American
professional basketball player. People always whine about how their first job experience was
terrible and there's only one reason which is not getting enough amount of money for their work.
I think people need to think that job is not always about money as I discovered from my first job.
About three years back, I had just turned sixteen and had finished 10th grade so I was enjoying my
summer vacation just like other kids enjoying their summer vacation after a long school year. One
day, my mother said I should get a job. She said it would teach me how to...show more content...
The workplace was always very clean, which also created a nice environment around me to focus
on my work. That's really a good thing because a nice working environment keeps me safe,
healthy, and gives me more energy to do my work. This company was also very well organized. I
feel I was one of the lucky one who got a job in very nice and organized company. I received a
good salary, had a nice working environment and was given respect by other employees which
were really amazing despite being the youngest employee. When I entered in this job, I knew
nothing. I was completely inexperienced and unskilled worker but after working here, this job
helped me to improve my working skills such as how to communicate with people around me,
never try to be hypocrite, stay calm and focus only on my work. Having a job also taught me to
value my own work, and what I put into something. As my mother said, this job also taught me
how to handle my responsibilities by myself. I became responsible for some of my own expenses.
This was a valuable experience for me. I learned the value of the money and taking my own
decisions about what I spend my money on. On Short, I feel that if a person works just for the sake
of money then there's no point of working. Yes, money is important but no person can enjoy the
work if that person is only working there for the sake of

My First Day Of A Job
When I was a sophomore I decided to get a job. I applied to movie theaters, restaurants, and retail.
I was lucky enough to get hired from one of the retail stores I applied to. I was jubilant! I was
picturing in my head, me, rolling around in piles of money and wearing extravagant clothes!
When I finally got my schedule, I realized that my first day of work was black Friday. So when
the time came for me to in for my shift, I was super nervous. As I walked into the store around
eight in the morning, I was bombarded by a hoard of people trying to the best deals before
anyone else. I thought that since I had a later shift, maybe, the customers would have died down.
Boy was I wrong. It seemed as though more people came in as the hours went by. All throughout
the day I felt like a deer in headlights. I couldn't seem to learn the tricks of the trade fast enough and
I really didn't know my co–workers very well. Most of the customers were not happy with me that
day. At the end of my shift I was tired and cranky, but I decided that I was going to stick this
through. What I didn't realize then is that I was walking into hell.
As time went by I got the hang of things and I realized that I was actually pretty good at my job. I
was proficient at customer service, but not so skilled at folding. A shift can consist of straightening
the clothes and nothing else. That entails board folding, putting the clothes into size order, and
filling in the missing sizes. I have had many of these

Personal Narrative: My First Job
My first job was at a restaurant by the name of Fazoli's in Avon Indiana. It was the first quick–serve
Italian restaurant. I believe I started working there when I was 17, my friend begged me to go
work with him. I got haired in October, I got the job rather fast sure they were heavily under
staffed. The owner of the restaurant was Mario. He put me as the chief I made subs salads pizzas
and desserts. I worked almost every day but only for short hours. About 3 to 4. I was alright with
the cause I would be able to get my school work done if needed with such short hours and able to
still have a social life. The only other times when I got more hours shifts would be when People
didn't want to work there shift so I would pick it up for them. I...show more content...
I also learned Empathy which is the ability to have an understanding of what another person is
going through. This skill allow you to put yourself in another person's place and recognize the
thoughts, emotions and experiences that person is having. The skill off Patience which involves
being able to maintain a temper, to repeat and explain information as necessary and to control
anger in even the most situations the costumers bring. The skill to Tolerant people I have too
accept differences, even when they don't personally agree with or condone them. This is a
valuable skill in workplace environments that cater to people of different ethnic, religious and
cultural backgrounds. Having patience with others and can keep a level head in stressful
situations and it will definitely be noticed by management. The skill of respect shows
consideration for the feelings, needs, thoughts, wishes and preferences of others. The skill of
listening, paying full attention to what other people are saying, takes time to understand the
points being made. Even some of the skills helped me outside of work. Like if I was out with family
empathy would be a good thing to have or even at school I should have respect for different people
all shapes and sizes. I'm glad I learned these skills from working at the Piggly

Getting My First Job
Getting my first job was really quite an experience. I learned and grew up a whole lot from just
that alone. I remember all the steps I took to get there from the interviewing process to even
starting with something as simple as a resume. It felt so great just obtaining the job through hard
work and dedication. It was the beginning of my senior year where nearly everyone had a job and
I was pretty much discouraged. I felt like I would never get a job. My schedule was pretty flexible
so I couldn't understand why I wasn't getting hired by anyone. I sat for a while and came to
conclusion I had to have a different attitude to get a better outcome. With persistence everything

3 things exactly. 1) you accept the behavior you think you deserve. People will disrespect you until
you tell them enough is enough and that's exactly what happened the manager got really upset when
I demanded the respect from her which led to our altercation. 2) You don't have to stay anywhere
you don't want to be because you feel like it's your only option. I had to learn there will be many
more jobs and some of them may not work and I have to learn to let go of them when that time
came. I would only be stressing myself out if I stuck around. 3) A manger is not the highest form
of authority! There is always someone above them. If I could've went back, I would've talked to
someone about my manager's behavior before quitting because there was someone actually
someone available and I just didn't use all my resources. I learned so much from getting my first
job, literally everything I learned I use in my everyday life today. It has made other situations I go
through easier to deal with and made me a little smarter on how I go about them. It was a horrible
experience but that doesn't even matter because what I learned from it really it outweighs the
experience and what I went

Personal Narrative: My First Job
My first job was working in the grapes with my family. My motive was to buy a remote control
car. My dad told me, "If you really worked hard for something, it would pay off eventually". I was
around seven years old. I still remember the early morning days when we would wake up at four
in the morning to get dressed up in our uniform. This uniform consisted of a long sleeve shirt,
pants, a bandana to cover your neck from the heat, and a hat. This was our every day work attire.
While we were getting dressed for work, my mom would be making tacos to eat at break or at
lunch time. These tacos were the best. They consisted of refried beans and pork meat with some
salsa. Every day the taco menu would change but these were still the best. Once we were

My Very First Job As teenager, many people say their adolescence is one of the most important
phases in anyone's life. As a teenager, you get to experience many great events like going to high
school football games, dating your first boyfriend or girlfriend, getting your driver license, and
graduating from high school. As I look back, I believe that getting my first job was the most
important event in my adolescence. I was very enthusiastic about getting my first job. I enjoyed
that fact that I will be able to earn my own money and not having to ask my mother for any earn.
Surprising, there was only one obstacle that was holding me back and that was the fact that I was a

that it was very busy inside. As I walked in, I was automatically being placed on front counter to
take order but I was very nervous to take order because I didn't know how to take them. My
manager taught me how to take the order and after a while I began to start taking orders without any
help. Everything was going great until one customer came into store with complaint. I politely
asked if he needed help, then angrily started yell at me about his order being incorrect. The man
even started to blame me for incorrectly bagging his food. His yelling was so loud that my
manager and even customer had to calm him down and escort him out of the store. At the end of
shift, I talked to manager and told her that I wanted quit because the customer made me so upset
and embarrassed. She told me quitting would be the wrong option and she told me that her and
the other managers liked me working there. After working at McDonalds for three weeks, I began
to make new friends and was glad that I didn't decide to quit my job. I enjoyed that I could earn my
own money and didn't have to ask my mother for money anymore. Work had been great after the first
customer incident happened. I had not received any customer complaints and my manager said that I

Why Did I Get My First Job?
As my junior year came close to ending I looked forward to getting my first job.
It's that moment in our lives where we take that first step towards adulthood. I managed to get my
first job towards the end of junior year. I wanted to get a job before, but I decided to wait after
finishing my SATs and ACTs. I wouldn'twant to distract myself from studying with working. My
first job was at a bakery that was near my house. It was a good distance and perfect for my first job.
The interview was nerve–wracking, questions about myself, why I wanted this job, and what I
wanted to be. The manager seemed impressed with how I answered and how respectful I was and
hired me. My first day was on a Friday and I would be working until closing. As soon as I got there
they were introducing me to everyone and had my uniform in hand. I was not the first one who just
started, there was another girl...show more content...
At certain times it was so busy where I could not have time to take a breather. However, at other
times it was so empty that I didn't know what to do. I knew I had to be fast and make the coffee as
fast as I can to start on the next drink.
After my first day I was exhausted. All I wanted to do was to go home and sleep. My brother tells
me it's normal to feel that way after working hard. When my brother told me that, I felt more grown
up and mature because I started working. I felt more proud of myself for doing this.
As someone has never had work experience, it was hard being up all the time and dealing with
customers. Especially, because I was extremely shy. However, I had the support of my coworkers,
most of them were college kids. They helped me learn into everything because they all know the
feeling of that first job. They taught me the responsibility of having one and the benefits of a job.
Not only that, but having a job as a teenager is the first step to becoming a responsible

Three years ago, I got my first real job. At fifteen years old, I was a residential site staff,
housekeeper, and kitchen staff at Camp Lakeside in Scott City, Kansas. With this new chapter in
my life came great responsibilities. Not only would I be working long and hard hours, but I
would also be living in the staff house away from my family. On top of these changes, I had just
recently taken out a loan to purchase my first car. The two and a half months I got to spend as
site staff that summer opened my eyes to what the world is going to be like after school. Every
teenager has high expectations for what their first job will be like. Maybe they expect a high rate of
pay or only a few responsibilities, but my job was the exact opposite. For

my only concern was trying to figure out how I was going to do at a new school, however, my
mother had other plans for me. She decided that it was time for me to get a job. My mother was
considered more as a single mom at the time. Even though our stepdad was existent, he didn't
really do much to help out with having us grow unless it was for personal gain. My mother also

The whole time I was blaming my mother for making all these decisions to have me get a job and
I end up taking the job that had to do the most with talking to customers and socializing. You know
how I said I was in panic mode earlier? At this point, I was really freaking out. I just wanted to run
out of there and never go back but it was too late. As soon as I told the gentlemen from HR that I
wanted the games associate position, he placed me outside on a table to wait for a manager to
interview me. As I was waiting, patiently for the manager to arrive, my palms were clamming up,
my breath was irregular as if I was catching my breath from being under water for a long time, and
tapping my feet excessively as if my feet were attempting to escape from my body and get me out
of this whole mess I got myself into. Without further ado to my panic attack, the games department
manager Charlie had finally arrived. Charlie was this Pilipino gentleman who was about 5'2. He was
wearing a collared, maroon, short–sleeved shirt with two thick vertical white lines, one each side of
his torso that went from his shoulder to the bottom of his shirt and navy blue shorts that were
jean–like material and went up to his knees. He was a really strong looking man with his broad
shoulders and his muscular calves. But, he also had a really round stomach that look like he ate a

Descriptive Essay About My First Job
My First Job. Or should I say the first instance where I earned a large sum of money for working.
It was not that hard only moving a little bit of mulch. But it meant a lot in a different way. I was
becoming an adult working hard in return for a few scraps of paper. The paper that makes the
world go round. I was earning it through some tough, but short labor. The Work was let's just say
cumbersome. It was a warm day in March the sun was blistering hot, heating anything under it
like an oven. While a bitter cold breeze blew all the heat away. Except in my case, wearing storm,
including wind resistant pants and a shirt that trapped that heat right in. Let's just say I was
sweating in a few minutes. I hate my thick Wisconsin blood. The heat would have not been that
bad if my face and hands weren't rosy from the chill. The job was tough but I was growing up. I
quickly grew calluses on my hands and had dirt in my pores. There were scratches on my arms
and pine needles down my neck. I was starting to look like a man. I was starting to become like my
dad. Hands callused and skin tough and thick like leather. The palms rough with wear. I was only
beginning. Hands soft, muscles strong, but not hardened, built for work. This was only the beginning.
Ever hour or so another muscle group would get sore. Before long everything hurt. But I knew it
would all be worth it in the end. Every adult worked and I could too, the money was worth it. Soon
that was all that filled my mind the

When you think about what do i want to be when i grow up its overwealthming to think i can pick
from anything. And well i feel like i thought about everything and at one point i wanted to be
everything. But finally with 2 year of not knowing i finally think i decided.
Before i tell you i have to give you my story about all jobs i wanted to be.
My first job was a 1st and 2nd grade teacher, not sure if they still do this but when i was in 1st and
second grade you had the same teacher and thats what i wanted to be, you could bond more with
your students and i loved that age group but then when i got into 9th grade i decided i didnt want to

But then i decided no because it doesnt involve a college degree and i want to get one ( cant waist
my scholorship)Then a vet is because i couldnt decide if i wanted to help people or animals but
then i remembered that i will probally have to put a animal to sleep and i couldnt do that i would
be crying with them! So then it leaves me with the hospital i alway imagined my self being in
scrubs im not sure why and when i see someone in scrubs im attracted to them ( not in that way)
but i like action but i dont want to be putting ivs in or shuving needles who knows where. When
my sons born i was really paying attention on what the nurses and doctors where doing and i
thought this would be really fun. So I had a time i wanted to be a obgyn but then i didnt want to
give people pap smears. Then a untrasound tech but i could never tell someone there baby died.
Then i had the desision of a labor and delivery nurse or post partum. Some hospitals this is the
same thing which im find with because i like both but if i work in a big hospital then i would want
to pick post partum. The reason is because labor and delivery involves needled and cathadors and i
feel like its more with the mom not that thats bad but i want to be with the babies and help the mom
with the babies and adjusting to motherhood.
After 2 years of not knowing at all what i wanted to be i finally desided that being a post partum
nurse is where i belong, i will need to do to 2–4 years of college depends what degree in nursing i
want then a certification and licence then i will be on my way to my dream

My first job. 2 years ago I started my first job. In the beginning I was really nervous and scared,
learning how to operate the computer was a difficult task that I didn't catch onto for a couple of
months. This is my experience starting at my first job that I still work at today. When I was 15 I
got offered a job and I was very excited! My sister worked there as well so it made getting trained
and learning a lot easier for me. I had a couple of tests to take and computer work to do before I
could start actually working. The first night I went in to train I was very overwhelmed. There are
so many buttons on the computer and trying to remember which button to push was hard! None
the less I got the hang of it after a few hours and I was happy. After numerous training shifts I finally
was put on a shift by myself. I was nervous and afraid that I wasn't ready but overall I didn't do
terrible. Some days are very busy while others are fairly slow....show more content...

tasks. I am now the manager! Being offered that position surprised me. It isn't always the most
easy job to try and manage others but I've learned how to take the right approach on it. With the
title came a lot more responsibility's but I knew they were part of my job and as stressful as it can
be sometimes I wouldn't want it any other way. I've gotten many opportunity from this job
including a trip in may! I will be meeting many new people and learning more about the business.

nothing back. It was starting to look grim and no other choice but to go away from home and go to
camp but there was one last shot i could apply for a little park in my town and do maintenance. So I

I started off by cleaning the bathrooms and organizing areas and getting it ready for the day the park

water, and ice cream. We weren't allowed to sell hot food because of health issues so that saved us

after that's done you sit there and occasionally get up to give kids food. On my second day i

What was your first job like?
When I was sixteen years old I thought my first job was going to be at Mc Donald's or some type of
fast food restaurant. My mother wasn't really the type that forced me to work at a younger age.
Usually a lot of teenagers don't work until seventeen or eighteen years old. Some times when I was a
child I always wanted to be more responsible by doing things on my own, working, and driving, but
at sixteen what can I be responsible at. As a young teenager I always looked at job postings. For
example I would see chef jobs, office jobs and retail. Sometimes I would look at them just for the fun
of it just to see what type of work that was offered in the bay area. Were I m from a lot of jobs don't

Another thing that was great was I didn't have any bills not even a cellular bill. Majority of my
money went to casual clothing for work, going out with friends, and McDonalds. It felt great
being responsible at an early age, because having a job and not depending on parents is always a
good thing because I didn't have to ask for everything. After I had my first job allowance didn't
exist anymore. I felt like a man at an early age.
Second the job I had was very fun. When I arrived at work I had a positive attitude to work get it
done at a fast pace so I can get more work done. I learned a lot about freeways, how they operate,
car accidents, traffic, and assisting the freeway workers during car crashes. Another thing was fun
was I had my own office. At times I would listen to all types of music like Rap, and R&B, I
would do research on video games, and play online shooting games after all my work was done.
The next thing that was fun was I had great coworkers. They was great because they was all ways
supportive. Everyone was positive, open minded, and everyone was older then I. there wasn't a
day where I would go to work and get any complaints or get myself into any drama. Before the
summer was over I was told when I turn eighteen years of age I can get another full time job, or an
internship. As years passed I can still see myself working in a fun environment like that. The reason
why everyone is was respectful, fun to be around, and the

My First Day At My Job
When I start the first day at my job everything seems okay and I feel very excited. To start off I am
barely learning, I have no idea what is going on, and I am being taught how to do my job. It's
very confusing to start out because I have no clue about the job itself. When I get confused, often
times the manager loses their patience and they might get after me if too many mistakes are
being made. Furthermore, this results to many frustrations on job down the line, and now all of a
sudden the thought of giving up comes to mind. It's very important that I learn all of the
respective duties for my job of work, and gather that information for greater success down the
line. The more I process each duty, the more I get the hang of it, thus becoming fairly easier to do
the job. It takes a lot of getting used to and really getting to know the job, and with time I get
better at it. In a job it takes more getting used to, each and every day I'm learning something new
to process in my mind, also to learn from it and get familiar with every task. It's like gathering all
of the information together and putting them together to get started on what you need to do for
the given day. Once I have gotten more familiar with the job, and more comfortable doing it on
my own without the need for help, I realize that it is not so bad once I practice and familiarize
myself with the work. Practicing really gives me the best results in the end. There was a particular
job that I once experienced

of my life. Getting my first job was bitter sweet. I had to learn how to manage my time between
school, sports, and now a job. After my first week of school I had to start my new job.
My first job is at a trucking company located in Derry. Adding a job to my schedule now was not too
stressful because it was only the first week of my junior year. Also by now inhigh school
everything is predictable the first few days of instruction. We start the first few days of
instruction going over the course material and expectations. Thus, letting me have more free time
in the afternoon the first week. I started my first shift on a Monday, it was so hot outside. I can
remember seeing the heat rise off of the truck hoods. I restored headlights and washed a couple of
the box trucks there for the day. I was surprised how easy this was, and remember going home and
telling my parents "This is the easiest job ever". I was beginning to get a taste of what it is like to
have a job....show more content...
It was time for my first paycheck when my boss called me and asked, "We don't have your
information for banking could you text it to me." So later that day I had to go open a checking's
account at a bank and while I was there I opened a credit card too. The next day my boss handed me
my paycheck, I later opened it to see how little I made. This was so disappointing for me I lost
almost half of my paycheck in taxes! For the next few days I couldn't get over how this was
possible. Eventually, all of my bills stared coming in the mail, it seemed like I couldn't keep

My First Job Essay

  • 1. Personal Narrative: My First Job My first job was at 7–eleven in Monmouth Junction by South Brunswick as a sales associate, specifically, the designated coffee maker. Despite the fact that I really did not need to work there, my father told me it would be an amazing learning experience and he was right. The shift I worked was from 5:00 AM to 10:00 AM, Monday to Friday and I was told to greet customers and ensure that the coffee pots were never empty. Despite this easy task I quickly found myself having trouble due to the fact that it was a mindless job which required no skills beyond training to make coffee. Fortunately, I learned a lot through my summer working there as I met customers from all walks of life, so poor that they were not allowed in and so wealthy they could Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Personal Narrative: My First Job Most people do not get a job their freshman year because they are not yet fifteen, do not want one, or are worried about grades. However, when the opportunity presented itself, I was ready to get my first job working as a salad girl at a family restaurant in Washington. One day when my family was eating at the Italian restaurant Bernardi's, I was taking the check up to the register when a family friend joked, "Hey, are you working tonight?" I awkwardly shrugged and replied, "I guess?" They laughed and went to their seats. I brought the credit card and receipt back to my table, where my family was sitting. My dad had heard what they said, and he told me, half–seriously, "Well, maybe you do need to get a job." I shrugged, not sure where or how I would get a job, and I was nervous about applying for it and making a resume. Then Nick, the manager, came to our table and ...show more content... I gave the papers to Nick, and he introduced me to the person who was training me, Anthony. He was a tall redhead, wearing sagging jeans barely held up by a rainbow belt. He showed me where to get aprons and cleaning rags, and then took me to the kitchen. It was bigger than I thought it would be, with a back room and a main room. There were five large fryers on one wall, next to the grill. In front of them was what the staff called the "window." The cooks placed hot food there before serving to keep it warm. The salad station was on another wall, and it had its own separate cooler, like a refrigerator, for all the ingredients in salads, especially the dinner salads. Anthony showed me where everything was, which salad dressings are which, how to make coleslaw, and what to do at closing time. He also taught me how to make certain desserts, which was fun. Anthony explained that he was not quitting, but being promoted. He was going to work as the "fry guy" who prepares and cooks all the fried Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. My First Job Experience My First Job Experience "Winning is important to me, but what brings me real joy is the experience of being fully engaged in whatever I'm doing." says Phil Jackson, a former American professional basketball player. People always whine about how their first job experience was terrible and there's only one reason which is not getting enough amount of money for their work. I think people need to think that job is not always about money as I discovered from my first job. About three years back, I had just turned sixteen and had finished 10th grade so I was enjoying my summer vacation just like other kids enjoying their summer vacation after a long school year. One day, my mother said I should get a job. She said it would teach me how to...show more content... The workplace was always very clean, which also created a nice environment around me to focus on my work. That's really a good thing because a nice working environment keeps me safe, healthy, and gives me more energy to do my work. This company was also very well organized. I feel I was one of the lucky one who got a job in very nice and organized company. I received a good salary, had a nice working environment and was given respect by other employees which were really amazing despite being the youngest employee. When I entered in this job, I knew nothing. I was completely inexperienced and unskilled worker but after working here, this job helped me to improve my working skills such as how to communicate with people around me, never try to be hypocrite, stay calm and focus only on my work. Having a job also taught me to value my own work, and what I put into something. As my mother said, this job also taught me how to handle my responsibilities by myself. I became responsible for some of my own expenses. This was a valuable experience for me. I learned the value of the money and taking my own decisions about what I spend my money on. On Short, I feel that if a person works just for the sake of money then there's no point of working. Yes, money is important but no person can enjoy the work if that person is only working there for the sake of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. My First Day Of A Job When I was a sophomore I decided to get a job. I applied to movie theaters, restaurants, and retail. I was lucky enough to get hired from one of the retail stores I applied to. I was jubilant! I was picturing in my head, me, rolling around in piles of money and wearing extravagant clothes! When I finally got my schedule, I realized that my first day of work was black Friday. So when the time came for me to in for my shift, I was super nervous. As I walked into the store around eight in the morning, I was bombarded by a hoard of people trying to the best deals before anyone else. I thought that since I had a later shift, maybe, the customers would have died down. Boy was I wrong. It seemed as though more people came in as the hours went by. All throughout the day I felt like a deer in headlights. I couldn't seem to learn the tricks of the trade fast enough and I really didn't know my co–workers very well. Most of the customers were not happy with me that day. At the end of my shift I was tired and cranky, but I decided that I was going to stick this through. What I didn't realize then is that I was walking into hell. As time went by I got the hang of things and I realized that I was actually pretty good at my job. I was proficient at customer service, but not so skilled at folding. A shift can consist of straightening the clothes and nothing else. That entails board folding, putting the clothes into size order, and filling in the missing sizes. I have had many of these Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The owner of the restaurant was Mario. He put me as the chief I made subs salads pizzas and desserts. I worked almost every day but only for short hours. About 3 to 4. I was alright with the cause I would be able to get my school work done if needed with such short hours and able to still have a social life. This skill allow you to put yourself in another person's place and recognize the thoughts, emotions and experiences that person is having. The skill off Patience which involves being able to maintain a temper, to repeat and explain information as necessary and to control anger in even the most situations the costumers bring. The skill to Tolerant people I have too accept differences, even when they don't personally agree with or condone them. This is a valuable skill in workplace environments that cater to people of different ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds. Having patience with others and can keep a level head in stressful situations and it will definitely be noticed by management. The skill of respect shows consideration for the feelings, needs, thoughts, wishes and preferences of others. The skill of listening, paying full attention to what other people are saying, takes time to understand the points being made. Even some of the skills helped me outside of work. Like if I was out with family empathy would be a good thing to have or even at school I should have respect for different people all shapes and sizes. • 6. Getting My First Job Getting my first job was really quite an experience. I learned and grew up a whole lot from just that alone. I remember all the steps I took to get there from the interviewing process to even starting with something as simple as a resume. It felt so great just obtaining the job through hard work and dedication. It was the beginning of my senior year where nearly everyone had a job and I was pretty much discouraged. I felt like I would never get a job. My schedule was pretty flexible so I couldn't understand why I wasn't getting hired by anyone. I sat for a while and came to conclusion I had to have a different attitude to get a better outcome. With persistence everything slowly fell into place. I had to learn there will be many more jobs and some of them may not work and I have to learn to let go of them when that time came. I would only be stressing myself out if I stuck around. 3) A manger is not the highest form of authority! There is always someone above them. If I could've went back, I would've talked to someone about my manager's behavior before quitting because there was someone actually someone available and I just didn't use all my resources. I learned so much from getting my first job, literally everything I learned I use in my everyday life today. It has made other situations I go through easier to deal with and made me a little smarter on how I go about them. It was a horrible experience but that doesn't even matter because what I learned from it really it outweighs the experience and what I went Get more content on HelpWriting.net

My dad told me, "If you really worked hard for something, it would pay off eventually". I was around seven years old. I still remember the early morning days when we would wake up at four in the morning to get dressed up in our uniform. This uniform consisted of a long sleeve shirt, pants, a bandana to cover your neck from the heat, and a hat. This was our every day work attire. I managed to get my first job towards the end of junior year. I wanted to get a job before, but I decided to wait after finishing my SATs and ACTs. I wouldn'twant to distract myself from studying with working. My first job was at a bakery that was near my house. It was a good distance and perfect for my first job. The interview was nerve–wracking, questions about myself, why I wanted this job, and what I wanted to be. The manager seemed impressed with how I answered and how respectful I was and hired me. All I wanted to do was to go home and sleep. My brother tells me it's normal to feel that way after working hard. When my brother told me that, I felt more grown up and mature because I started working. I felt more proud of myself for doing this. As someone has never had work experience, it was hard being up all the time and dealing with customers. Especially, because I was extremely shy. However, I had the support of my coworkers, most of them were college kids. They helped me learn into everything because they all know the feeling of that first job. At fifteen years old, I was a residential site staff, housekeeper, and kitchen staff at Camp Lakeside in Scott City, Kansas. With this new chapter in my life came great responsibilities. Not only would I be working long and hard hours, but I would also be living in the staff house away from my family. On top of these changes, I had just recently taken out a loan to purchase my first car. The two and a half months I got to spend as site staff that summer opened my eyes to what the world is going to be like after school. Every teenager has high expectations for what their first job will be like. Maybe they expect a high rate of pay or only a few responsibilities, but my job was the exact opposite. At the age of fifteen, my only concern was trying to figure out how I was going to do at a new school, however, my mother had other plans for me. She decided that it was time for me to get a job. My mother was considered more as a single mom at the time. Even though our stepdad was existent, he didn't really do much to help out with having us grow unless it was for personal gain. You know how I said I was in panic mode earlier? At this point, I was really freaking out. I just wanted to run out of there and never go back but it was too late. As soon as I told the gentlemen from HR that I wanted the games associate position, he placed me outside on a table to wait for a manager to interview me. As I was waiting, patiently for the manager to arrive, my palms were clamming up, my breath was irregular as if I was catching my breath from being under water for a long time, and tapping my feet excessively as if my feet were attempting to escape from my body and get me out of this whole mess I got myself into. Without further ado to my panic attack, the games department manager Charlie had finally arrived. Charlie was this Pilipino gentleman who was about 5'2. He was wearing a collared, maroon, short–sleeved shirt with two thick vertical white lines, one each side of his torso that went from his shoulder to the bottom of his shirt and navy blue shorts that were jean–like material and went up to his knees. • 12. Descriptive Essay About My First Job My First Job. Or should I say the first instance where I earned a large sum of money for working. It was not that hard only moving a little bit of mulch. But it meant a lot in a different way. I was becoming an adult working hard in return for a few scraps of paper. The paper that makes the world go round. I was earning it through some tough, but short labor. The Work was let's just say cumbersome. It was a warm day in March the sun was blistering hot, heating anything under it like an oven. While a bitter cold breeze blew all the heat away. Except in my case, wearing storm, including wind resistant pants and a shirt that trapped that heat right in. Let's just say I was sweating in a few minutes. I hate my thick Wisconsin blood. The heat would have not been that bad if my face and hands weren't rosy from the chill. The job was tough but I was growing up. I quickly grew calluses on my hands and had dirt in my pores. There were scratches on my arms and pine needles down my neck. I was starting to look like a man. I was starting to become like my dad. Hands callused and skin tough and thick like leather. The palms rough with wear. I was only beginning. Hands soft, muscles strong, but not hardened, built for work. This was only the beginning. Ever hour or so another muscle group would get sore. Before long everything hurt. But I knew it would all be worth it in the end. Every adult worked and I could too, the money was worth it. Soon that was all that filled my mind the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

My first job was a 1st and 2nd grade teacher, not sure if they still do this but when i was in 1st and second grade you had the same teacher and thats what i wanted to be, you could bond more with your students and i loved that age group but then when i got into 9th grade i decided i didnt want to be a teacher and that wasnt for me. In 3rd grade we wrote a paper on what we wanted to be and apernetly...show more content... But then i decided no because it doesnt involve a college degree and i want to get one ( cant waist my scholorship)Then a vet is because i couldnt decide if i wanted to help people or animals but then i remembered that i will probally have to put a animal to sleep and i couldnt do that i would be crying with them! So then it leaves me with the hospital i alway imagined my self being in scrubs im not sure why and when i see someone in scrubs im attracted to them ( not in that way) but i like action but i dont want to be putting ivs in or shuving needles who knows where. When my sons born i was really paying attention on what the nurses and doctors where doing and i thought this would be really fun. So I had a time i wanted to be a obgyn but then i didnt want to give people pap smears. Then a untrasound tech but i could never tell someone there baby died. Then i had the desision of a labor and delivery nurse or post partum. Some hospitals this is the same thing which im find with because i like both but if i work in a big hospital then i would want to pick post partum. The reason is because labor and delivery involves needled and cathadors and i feel like its more with the mom not that thats bad but i want to be with the babies and help the mom with the babies and adjusting to motherhood. After 2 years of not knowing at all what i wanted to be i finally desided that being a post partum nurse is where i belong, i will need to do to 2–4 years of college depends what degree in nursing i want then a certification and licence then i will be on my way to my dream Get more content on HelpWriting.net

You can have an idea about what you wanna do. But not fully know until you get out into the work field and see all the different variety of jobs. I wanna be a welder or a machinist, maybe get a job at SDI. I would really like to inherit the family farm and expand that. My first job was on a dairy farm. Started out milking cows after school for about 2 months then summer came and i switched to mixing there feed and scraping the lots. I did that for about a year. I really liked that job it opened my eyes for expanding the family farm and all the different ways i could do it. I made connections Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Personal Narrative: My First Job My first job. 2 years ago I started my first job. In the beginning I was really nervous and scared, learning how to operate the computer was a difficult task that I didn't catch onto for a couple of months. This is my experience starting at my first job that I still work at today. When I was 15 I got offered a job and I was very excited! My sister worked there as well so it made getting trained and learning a lot easier for me. I had a couple of tests to take and computer work to do before I could start actually working. The first night I went in to train I was very overwhelmed. There are so many buttons on the computer and trying to remember which button to push was hard! None the less I got the hang of it after a few hours and I was happy. After numerous training shifts I finally was put on a shift by myself. I was nervous and afraid that I wasn't ready but overall I didn't do terrible. Some days are very busy while others are fairly slow....show more content... I started to learn paperwork and it took me a couple weeks before I could do it on my own. I was happy to be more involved with the business. My co workers are always fun to work with and be around. They make the day go by faster and we all work together as a team to complete daily tasks. I am now the manager! Being offered that position surprised me. It isn't always the most easy job to try and manage others but I've learned how to take the right approach on it. With the title came a lot more responsibility's but I knew they were part of my job and as stressful as it can be sometimes I wouldn't want it any other way. I've gotten many opportunity from this job including a trip in may! I will be meeting many new people and learning more about the business. There were times that I've wanted to give up but I kept pushing through and I'm glad that I did. Having this job has made me more outgoing and social which I wasn't Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. What Is My First Job Essay My First Job My first job started off with my parents giving me choice either get a job or go to camp over the summer for 6 weeks again. I really didn't want to go to the camp my only option was to tail off and get a job at the young age of 15. I started off by applying to hannafords because i heard they were hiring, after waiting 2 weeks and no response other than a thank you for applying i heard nothing back. It was starting to look grim and no other choice but to go away from home and go to camp but there was one last shot i could apply for a little park in my town and do maintenance. So I went to town hall grabbed an application filled it out and with the help of good references i got the job. I was so happy and ready to work before i could i had to fill out...show more content... After all of that i as ready to start off the first clean up day was a few weeks after school since my mom had work and my parents were divorced i just rode my bike there everyday, so once i got there i found the guy in charge introduced myself and then i saw other people i knew and it wasn't so bad. I started off by cleaning the bathrooms and organizing areas and getting it ready for the day the park opens. I started about a week after the park opened my job was to sit in shack and sell candy, soda, water, and ice cream. We weren't allowed to sell hot food because of health issues so that saved us from a lot of heat and more work. On my first day i realized it was one of the most boring job ever you sit inside a shack and in the beginning of the day is the rush where people pay to get in then after that's done you sit there and occasionally get up to give kids food. On my second day i realized hough stressful it could be, my director needed help at another camp across town and took 2 people out to help him so i was left alone in shack not really knowing what i was doing. Weekends were very different because you had a surplus of people coming to the park and just an enormous flow of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. My First Job What was your first job like? When I was sixteen years old I thought my first job was going to be at Mc Donald's or some type of fast food restaurant. My mother wasn't really the type that forced me to work at a younger age. Usually a lot of teenagers don't work until seventeen or eighteen years old. Some times when I was a child I always wanted to be more responsible by doing things on my own, working, and driving, but at sixteen what can I be responsible at. As a young teenager I always looked at job postings. For example I would see chef jobs, office jobs and retail. Sometimes I would look at them just for the fun of it just to see what type of work that was offered in the bay area. Were I m from a lot of jobs don't exist, and my...show more content... Another thing that was great was I didn't have any bills not even a cellular bill. Majority of my money went to casual clothing for work, going out with friends, and McDonalds. It felt great being responsible at an early age, because having a job and not depending on parents is always a good thing because I didn't have to ask for everything. After I had my first job allowance didn't exist anymore. I felt like a man at an early age. Second the job I had was very fun. When I arrived at work I had a positive attitude to work get it done at a fast pace so I can get more work done. I learned a lot about freeways, how they operate, car accidents, traffic, and assisting the freeway workers during car crashes. Another thing was fun was I had my own office. At times I would listen to all types of music like Rap, and R&B, I would do research on video games, and play online shooting games after all my work was done. The next thing that was fun was I had great coworkers. They was great because they was all ways supportive. Everyone was positive, open minded, and everyone was older then I. there wasn't a day where I would go to work and get any complaints or get myself into any drama. Before the summer was over I was told when I turn eighteen years of age I can get another full time job, or an internship. As years passed I can still see myself working in a fun environment like that. The reason why everyone is was respectful, fun to be around, and the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. My First Day At My Job When I start the first day at my job everything seems okay and I feel very excited. To start off I am barely learning, I have no idea what is going on, and I am being taught how to do my job. It's very confusing to start out because I have no clue about the job itself. When I get confused, often times the manager loses their patience and they might get after me if too many mistakes are being made. Furthermore, this results to many frustrations on job down the line, and now all of a sudden the thought of giving up comes to mind. It's very important that I learn all of the respective duties for my job of work, and gather that information for greater success down the line. The more I process each duty, the more I get the hang of it, thus becoming fairly easier to do the job. It takes a lot of getting used to and really getting to know the job, and with time I get better at it. In a job it takes more getting used to, each and every day I'm learning something new to process in my mind, also to learn from it and get familiar with every task. It's like gathering all of the information together and putting them together to get started on what you need to do for the given day. Once I have gotten more familiar with the job, and more comfortable doing it on my own without the need for help, I realize that it is not so bad once I practice and familiarize myself with the work. Practicing really gives me the best results in the end. There was a particular job that I once experienced Get more content on HelpWriting.net

This year was just a little glimpse of what was going to be the rest of my life. Getting my first job was bitter sweet. I had to learn how to manage my time between school, sports, and now a job. After my first week of school I had to start my new job. My first job is at a trucking company located in Derry. Adding a job to my schedule now was not too stressful because it was only the first week of my junior year. Also by now inhigh school everything is predictable the first few days of instruction. We start the first few days of instruction going over the course material and expectations. Thus, letting me have more free time in the afternoon the first week. I started my first shift on a Monday, it was so hot outside. I can remember seeing the heat rise off of the truck hoods. I restored headlights and washed a couple of the box trucks there for the day. I was surprised how easy this was, and remember going home and telling my parents "This is the easiest job ever". I was beginning to get a taste of what it is like to have a job....show more content... It was time for my first paycheck when my boss called me and asked, "We don't have your information for banking could you text it to me." So later that day I had to go open a checking's account at a bank and while I was there I opened a credit card too. The next day my boss handed me my paycheck, I later opened it to see how little I made. This was so disappointing for me I lost almost half of my paycheck in taxes! For the next few days I couldn't get over how this was possible. Eventually, all of my bills stared coming in the mail, it seemed like I couldn't keep Get more content on HelpWriting.net
