Coastal Plains are formed by rivers and
oceans.
Rivers overflow their normal banks and dry up
creating plains.
Coastal Plains are made up of sand, mud, and
rocks.
The Great Plains were formed because long
ago the glaciers covered the area.
As the ice receded, it produced flat lands
known as The Great Plains.
3. Coastal
Plains
Coastal plains are flat, low lying land forms
near the ocean.
2/3 of Alabama is made up of coastal plains
which are near the gulf of Mexico.
Coastal Plains are near oceans and large
lakes.
They are home to many natural resources
such as animals and plants.
Sands, dunes, and grasslands, and salt
marshes make up the coastal plains.
7. The Great Plains
The Great Plains are large areas of grass
which cover a huge portion of the United
States.
The great plains are used for agriculture,
producing 25% of the worlds wheat, oat,
barley, rye, sorghum and corn.
The Great Plains have two different types of
grass due to rainfall.
Mixed- grass in the central Great Plains and tall
grass prairie in the wetter Eastern regions.
