I used to upload my planning, research and final
products. By keeping a blog, this helped me to keep my
documents organised and in chronological order. I was able to
make notes on my work and it allowed other members of the
class to comment on my pieces.

5. In order to create our own soap opera, we needed to understand the typical
CODES AND CONVENTIONS for already existing soap operas.
To fully understand the CODES AND CONVENTIONS of a soap, we
deconstructed an episode of EASTENDERS and evaluated it using:
CAMERA, LIGHTING, SOUND and MISE EN SCENE.
6. We watched an existing episode of
Eastenders and evaluated it using:
• LIGHTING
• SOUND
• CAMERAWORK
• MISE EN SCENE
This PowerPoint
can be found on my blog.
7. SHOT REVERSE SHOT
The SHOT REVERSE SHOT gives the audience a chance to see each
character’s individual EMOTION.
4TH WALL
The 4TH WALL lets the audience feel as though they are in the room with
the characters, this makes the soap become more REALISTIC.
8. My soap uses a VARIATION OF SHOT TYPES which I have compared with already
existing soaps.
