Conference #1 Assignment Sheet
Throughout this course, we will have two different weeks set aside for conferences (Weeks 7 and
11). However, I would like to meet with each of during the first four weeks. Ideally, conferences
will take place during my office hours (found in the syllabus). If those times do not work for you,
I am more than happy to schedule them throughout the week.
In order to schedule this conference, please complete the following steps:
1. Please email me at least one week in advance of when you would like to meet.
2. Include three days and times that fall during weeks 2 – 5 that you can meet in order of
preference (number them 1 – 3). Conferences will be 15-20 minutes long.
3. Look for my return email confirming which day and time I am scheduling for. I will
schedule these in the order they come in.
4. Note: you cannot reschedule your conference if you miss it.
How to earn a B:
1. You must come with three specific questions about the course, expectations, projects,
etc.
2. You must bring some sort of writing from this class (it does not need to be an essay, but
it should be long enough that we can discuss it).
3. Please bring ideas, problem areas, what you think you struggle with/can improve on with
your writing.
4. Participate in the conversation. This should not be me talking at you.
