Subhash Chandra Bose was a prominent Indian nationalist leader who fought against British rule of India. He was strongly influenced by Swami Vivekananda and decided to take action against the British after witnessing exploitation of Indians. He was expelled from college after beating a racist British teacher. Later he joined the Indian National Congress but often opposed its non-violent approach favored by Gandhi. He broke from Congress and sought military help from Axis powers during World War 2, forming the Indian National Army. Though INA liberated parts of India, Japan's surrender ended their campaign. Nehru at that time said “If Subhash would bring
soldiers from outside and enter India, then I would be
the first person to take sword in hand and oppose
him.” ….

September of 1939,

The Congress party was in power in seven
major states and all state governments resigned

There was a tremendous response to his call and the British
promptly imprisoned him
He took to a hunger-strike, and after his health deteriorated on
the 11th day of fasting, he was freed and was placed under
house arrest. The British could do nothing except locking him in
the prison.

disappeared
The authorities did not come to know for many days that he
was not in his Barrack (the house in which he was being
guarded).
He traveled to resurface in Kabul
In November 1941, his broadcast from German radio sent
shock waves amongst the British and electrified the Indian
masses who realized that their leader was working on a master
plan to free their motherland

The bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki changed the history of
mankind. Japan had to surrender.

deals with the charges that Bose was in Soviet Russia.
Contrary to official version that Bose was killed in an air crash in 1945, a
widely held view has been that he was in the Soviet Russia after that

dismissed by the UPA government in 2006, had stated that the story of
Bose's death was planted by the Japanese even as the Indian leader
prepared to escape to Soviet Russia where he hoped to get an asylum.
