Who Can Be Fired? Retaining and Separating Employees Picture shows a business man leaving

watermarked at the right. Activity Description Superior Products is a global company
headquartered in New York with more than 30,000 employees. Superior Products operates
several different business units including manufacturing, logistics, and retail. This company has
specialized areas within the human resources department including a department on talent
acquisition, total rewards, and employee relations. You just started with Superior Products as an
Employee Relations Intern. Sarah Colter is the Employee Relations, Policies, and Compliance
Manager. As your manager, she works closely with you to guide you in the right direction or pat
you on the back for a job well done. Andrew Kiely, a production manager from one of the
companys business units, stops by the Employee Relations office to inquire about two of his
employees. State laws may vary; therefore, for the purpose of this activity, please focus on
federal laws in conjunction with company policy. A consistent company policy is defensible in
the court of law.

Superior Products operates several different business units including manufacturing, logistics, and retail. This company has specialized areas within the human resources department including a department on talent acquisition, total rewards, and employee relations. You just started with Superior Products as an Employee Relations Intern. Sarah Colter is the Employee Relations, Policies, and Compliance Manager. As your manager, she works closely with you to guide you in the right direction or pat you on the back for a job well done. Andrew Kiely, a production manager from one of the companys business units, stops by the Employee Relations office to inquire about two of his employees.
