4. 32 bits or 64 bits? If you want to install SaaS ETL on a 64-bit computer, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to install the 64-bit version of SaaS ETL. The 64bit version is able to see only those DSNs created with an 64-bit ODBC driver. If you have an ERP with an ODBC driver that is available only in 32-bit, then you need to install the 32-bit version of SaaS ETL even if your server is 64-bit. Only use the 64-bit version if you have a 64-bit ODBC driver for your ERP.
7. CommonErrors / Issues If you are unable to see the text over the buttons in the SaaSETL, it means you installed the software with a non-administrator user. To fix this, just right click on the SaaS ETL and select “run as different user” and use the admin account. Once you see the text over the buttons, you can close the SaaS ETL and use the regular user.
10. Creating a task: Step 1 / 4 This window is to select what model you want to fill with data and from where you will get the data. 1.Type a name for your task 2.Select your ERP 3.Select the KPI Online model you want to load data into
11. Creating a task: Step2/4 Select the DSN (ODBC connection) that points to your ERP’s database. This dropdown will only show you system DSN’s. If you do not see your ODBC connection, you may need to recreate it under the System DSN. Don’t forget to test the connection!
12. Creating a task: Step 3 / 4 Select the company that owns the information If you have only one company you may use the “default” company to load all your data. Using the “other” option you will be able to create a company in KPI Online.
13. Creating a task: Step 4 / 4 Select the frequency and hour to process the task. Daily, Weekly and Monthly options are available. Use the days back to load range of dates. For example: enter 5 to load the last 5 days every time a load occurs. Use 31 days back to load data for the last current month. End !
16. Operating SaaS ETL In the system task bar (lower right hand corner of your screen), you will find the SaaS ETL icon. The icon will be displayed as a blue box with a yellow triangle. Select “stop” to “stop” the service or to stop data loading. Use “Restart” to stop and then start the service. While performing an on demand data load you can use “stop” to stop processing the task. If there is no task running, then stop will stop the service. By default, SaaSETL runs as a service. To get options, right click on the icon representing the SaaS ETL Select “open” to bring up the SaaS ETL console.
17. Operating SaaS ETL Execute a task (see next slide for more detail) Delete a task Edit a task Edit the connection parameters Before editing or deleting a task, you must first highlight the task in the task window. Click the task to highlight it.
18. Operating SaaS ETL Load all the available history from your ERP. Be careful, this process may take a long time if you have multiple years of data! Performs the selected task on demand. To load an specific date range of data In case an error occurs, a log is generated. Click Open Log to review the log. All errors will be displayed in the log. Click here to empty the log.
19. Important Notes SAAS ETL sends http requests to KPI Online.com to send the data If you have a firewall installed on the computer, you will need to allow the SaaS ETL to communicate over the Internet with KPI Online. If you change your password in KPI Online, don’t forget to update the password in the SaaS ETL.
