2. As with any project the key is having everything on hand that you’ll need.
For this project you need…
cling film
sugru hack putty sugru - hack things better
an old broken lens (or small magnifying glass)
baking paper
scissors
3. Begin by covering the camera lens & corner of your phone with cling
film.
4. Pull apart the lens or magnifying glass & isolate the glass.
6. Now’s the fun part. It’s play doh for grown ups.
Sugru is amazing stuff – it air dries & cures in 24 hours. If you have another idea by all
means go with it but I think this stuff is terrific. You can buy it online here…

7. Using about ½ of one small packet of sugrurole a couple of spaghetti
strings. They say the stuff stains so I did this on baking paper.
8. Lay your lens onto your string of sugru& roll the lens along the string to
enclose it.
9. Just use your scissors to cut off the excess. You should now have a lens enclosed in
sugru.
10. Now position your magnifier over the camera lens.
Gently press the sugru to ensure a tight fit around the glass & optimum
positioning.
11. Turn your phone over & attach another spaghetti strand as pictured.
12. Roll the remaining sugru into a ball, press flat & “fill in” the corner.
Double check your lens position & the fit of the lens corner onto the phone.
13. Once you are happy with the fit of the lens corner remove the cling film & the
lens from your phone & leave to cure.
14. Time lapse…24 hours later…
Remove the cling film from the inside of your lens corner.
15. Clean lens to remove any oily residue from the sugru.
