1. LIS believes in ensuring that its educators are able to continually grow professionally and
that they are supported in their goals. It is essential that we promote and modellife long
learning, seeking it out in a variety of ways. It is therefore important that we reflect on
the following when considering applying for funding for professional development:

What can I learn from my broader Professional Learning Network?
Teachers will be supported in the best way possible to meet their needs and the needs of
Professional learning opportunity is sourced by
applicant, LOL or programme coordinator
Discussion of the application takes place with above
Teacher applies for funding using the PD application
form at least one month prior to event.
Professional Learning team considers application
• Professional goals of the applicant
• Professional goals of the department/section
• Professional goals of the school
• Applicant’s PL history
• Professional learning budget
Applicant is notified within two weeks of team
Professional Learning in the Secondary School at LIS
