This place is a very common stop for all the travelers passing by. Everybody
travelling long distances love to stop here and refresh themselves with a nice
hot cup of tea. Behind this stall is a very big tea factory.
The sit-out
A little more about this stall….
• It is ideally located and is the only hygienic stop for any traveler passing by.
• It is a very small stall mainly made for the estate owners and tourists who
  drive en route the stall.
• There is only a small opening where one can interact or order for the
  desired type of tea.
• The stall is very well organized and the person in charge is very sweet and
  kind.
• The age and gender of customers visiting this stall vary. People of all ages
visit this stall. This is because the drive to this location is very beautiful.
• Photographers, tourists, etc. are the main people who use this stall.
• The sales person doesn’t have any problem in people asking questions and
trying out the different types of tea in the stall.
• The second picture is of the lovely sit out for people to enjoy their drink a
  little more !!
Florist
This small stall is situated in a small town where even accessing the
smallest commodity is difficult.
Flower Stall
• Many people call a shop containing flowers a florist. Well this is a
miniature version of a florist in a small town named Manjoor, India.
• The population of the town is around 2500-5000.
• This florist sells most of his flower stock in the morning or late night as
every morning the people in India worship God and everything which
symbolizes God. We use the flowers as a garland to worship God.
• The customers who buy flowers from this florist are mainly married
  women.
• Every flower has a different price and this price is based on the number of
  feet(of the flower) one buys.
• You must be wondering where the flowers come from…. Well the person
buys the flowers from the nearest town that is Ooty which is an hour
  away!!
My Town
This is a picture of my town - Ooty. It is one of the most visited hill
stations in India.
Ooty..
• The reason why Ooty is one of the most visited hill stations in
India is because this place has the best weather throughout
  the year.
• Other than that there is a lot of scenic beauty and a lot of
  wildlife too !!
• Due to rapid urbanization the amount of vehicles as well as
buildings have increased which is spoiling the beauty of this
  wonderful place.
• This town has also become too noisy and very polluted due to
the various types of crowd which come here.
Where it stands out from all the other
              places..

• It is not densely populated (5000-10000 people)
• People earning a decent wage can be very happy as the cost
  of living here is low.
• There is so much to see – wildlife, scenery, etc.
• The weather is very unique
• Different variety of Oils, tea, coffee, etc. which you will never
find anywhere else in the world.
Where Ooty lacks …
• Too many people visit this hill station throughout the
year making it very populated and very polluted too.
• Infrastructure mainly roads have to be improved
• Public transport is very bad
Nanjanad
This is a small village situated about 15 kms from Ooty.
Nanjanad
• This village has a population of around 500 persons.
• The only way to get to this place if you don’t have a vehicle is by bus. A bus
travels to this location every hour, so if you miss a bus you will have to
wait another hour to catch the next one.
• The road to this place is very bad
• The houses in which the people live in are not fully done up. Suppose
there is a heavy shower, the water enters most of the houses. The roofing
is mostly done with the help of broken tiles or sheets.
• In this village majority of the people don’t have the luxuries of a TV,
  washing machine, etc.
• The men of a particular household leaves his house early in the morning
and returns back late in the evening. The women usually cook and clean
up the house and also take care of the children.
• The nearest school is around 4 kms away and the children have to either
catch a bus or walk the entire way.
• One thing that should be really appreciated is the fact that no matter how
little these people have all of them are so happy !!
