Why is creativity important? Sir Ken Robinson – if you ’re not prepared to be wrong, you’ll never come up with something original. As students get older, they become more socially aware and more self-conscious ----- but what do we do in education that adds to this feeling of “not being creative?” Creative is about having original ideas and sharing them – an openness of mind, a willingness to explore, a confidence in your imagination, a willingness to try, to make a mistake, to make changes, to try again Curriculum becomes narrow and we have opportunities….but don ’t make those available to students. We are working in a 19 th century system that met the needs of the Industrial Revolution – the assembly line approach. Divide up the day….assembly line. How can we tap into digital technology?
