1. Write longer, more
comprehensive blog
posts.
Here’s why.

Create search optimized
“ultimate” or “definitive”
guides.
2. Think topics, not
keywords (when it
comes to SEO).
Why?
To show search engines
that you’re the expert.
“The more we wrote on that subject and linked
all the related pieces together, the higher we
ranked in SERP for all terms related to topic A.
So clearly, showing topical expertise across
content was a key component to our growth.”

Create content around similar
topics, and link to existing content
when applicable.
3. Amplify our best
social media posts.
Look for your best-performing
social media updates and
then promote those via social
media ads.

Send an email to your existing database
and ask them to opt-in to blog
newsletter.
6. Expand your
influencer program.
Partner with influencers for ebooks,
slideshares, infographics, webinars, etc.
Enable them to share your content on
social media.
Another idea:
Invite influencers to write a foreword for
your next ebook.
7. Create a Pinterest
Resources page.
8. Update your old
blog posts.

Hubspot saw an increase in leads by “optimizing
the past.” Their tactics involved:
• Updating top-performing blog posts to include
new stats and insights
• Optimizing CTAs – e.g. update CTAs if a new,
more relevant gated piece is available
• Changing the date and republishing the piece
as a new post
9. Optimize your top
landing pages (e.g. top
performing blog posts)
for conversion.
• Match your CTA text with the keyword
people use to land on the page.
• Include both text and image CTA.
• Test your headlines on social media and
revise if necessary

offerings to match your
most popular posts.
Look at your analytics and make sure
your top “landing pages” have a
corresponding gated piece.

ads on Facebook and
