growing sport of pickleball.
Pickleball is paddle sport created for all ages and skill levels. The
rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but
can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for
experienced players. It combines many elements of tennis,
badminton and ping-pong. It can be played both indoors and
outdoors, on a badminton-sized court or a slightly modified tennis
set. It is played with a paddle and a plastic wiffle ball with holes. It
can be played as doubles or singles
Kathy Levinson is a member of the Silicon Valley Pickleball club,
which boasts over 300 members. She regularly holds clinics for
players who have learned the basic rules and scoring and are ready
for more advanced instruction about skill strokes, court positioning
and shot selection strategy.
