3. The idea for the New Museum of
Acropolis was first conceived in1976.
Finally it was finished in 2007.
It exhibits the sculpture of the
Parthenon: the Pediments, the Metopes
and the Frieze.

• Underneath one can see a neigbourhood of
Ancient Athens.
• The houses, baths, shops and workshops of the
ancient city found beneath the Museum,
together with the sculpture, pottery, coins and
other finds from the excavation, inform us
about the daily life of ancient Athens.
