3. What is our motivating factor for
obedience to God?
• God’s love toward us! John 3:16
• Christ death on the cross!
• For the love of Christ controls us, because we
have concluded this: that one has died for all,
therefore all have died; and he died for all, that
those who live might no longer live for
themselves but for him who for their sake
died and was raised. (2 Cor. 5:14-15)
4. What is our motivating factor for
obedience to God?
• The cross of Christ…
• For I am the least of the apostles, that am not
meet to be called an apostle, because I
persecuted the church of God.
• But by the grace of God I am what I am: andgrace of God I am what I am: and
his grace which was bestowed upon me washis grace which was bestowed upon me was
not in vain;not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly
than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God
which was with me. (1 Cor. 15:9-10)

crowned with glory and honour; that he by the
grace of God should taste death for every man.
(Hebrews 2:9)
• And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for
ours only, but also for the sins of the whole
world. (1 John 2:2)

• Love
• Love is patient and kind; love does not
envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude.
It does not insist on its own way; it is not
irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at
wrongdoing, but rejoices with the
truth. Love bears all things, believes all
things, hopes all things, endures all
things. Love never ends.
