If you leave school at 16 and work for the 6 years that your mates are in education – say starting on £14k a year and going up
£500 a year. You’ll have earned £87k and you will have nothing to pay back. Even if you never earn huge amounts, you are only
£13k behind your uni mate over a working life time.
Uni may be worth it but unless you’re lucky, a banker or a lawyer you may not even earn the £100k more – you had best make
sure you enjoy it!
