2. PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND
GOAL
This project provides UCV English II
students with a variety of idioms divided up
into categories depending on what they refer
to, for example, animals, time, colors, moods
and emotions, and so on. It also provides a
definition or description of all the idioms,
accompanied by illustrative examples.
The goal of this training is to familiarize
learners with some commonly used idioms, so
that they become more competent in this area
of the vocabulary component.
3. OBJECTIVES
General objective:
Familiarize learners with some
commonly used English idioms.
Specific objectives:
1. Provide learners with practice so that
they become more competent when
using idiomatic expressions.
2. Enable learners to interpret accurately
the meaning of idioms in real life
contexts.
3. Enable learner to use idioms
accurately and fluently in real life
contexts.
4. AUDIENCE
This wiki was specially designed for UCV
English II students who are at an upper-
intermediate level of English. This idiomatic
phrase practice will serve as an excellent
complement of their English language
classes, and also as part of their training in
the cultural component.
English teachers will also benefit from this
websites, since it provides systematic
information and practice about some common
idioms of the English language, and shows
how web-based tools may be included in
EFL/ESL classes as well.
5. STEPS FOR ACTIVITY
COMPLETION
1. Access the wiki:

2. Find your corresponding idiom category
under the “Assignments” list (divided up in
groups).
3. Complete the all the tasks in you “Idiom
group”. Click on Week 1-2 activities for
further instructions.
4. Post all the activities and upload the video
created in your “idiom group space” in the
Wiki.
