Remember The Miners Announces 1st Annual Tribute Golf Classic
Presented by Little General Stores
Remember The Miners Tribute Golf Classic to be held May 11th at Glade Springs
Resort.
Remember The Miners is excited to announce its first annual golf fundraising
tournament, the Remember The Miners Tribute Golf Classic Presented by Little
General. The tournament will be held Friday, May 11th at Cobb Course at Glade
Springs Resort in West Virginia.
Four-person teams will play the course. VIPs attending include Landau Eugene
Murphy, Jr., Randy Moss, Coach Bob Huggins, Jason Williams, and Coach Don
Nehlen.
Registration will occur from 8:00-9:00 AM, with a shotgun start at 10:30 AM. Tribute
programming will begin the morning’s festivities, with the presentation of the Spring
2012 Pritchard Mining Class of the Scholars Program.
“We’re excited to introduce the Remember The Miners Tribute Golf Classic as one of
our newest traditions,” began Jason Parsons, President of the organization. “It’s a
privilege for us to involve some of West Virginia’s most notable philanthropists and
raise money to help educate the future of the coal industry.”
The tournament will benefit the Remember The Miners Scholars Program, which has
awarded tens of thousands of scholarship dollars to students pursuing higher
education in the mining industry.

Remember The Miners Announces VIPs at First Annual Tribute Golf
Classic
Golf tournament fundraiser will honor Scholars Program inductees with presentation
and high-profile attendees.
Remember The Miners is pleased to announce the attendance of several VIPs at their
upcoming First Annual Tribute Golf Classic.
America'Remember The Miners Honorary Chairman and head coach of WVU’s
basketball team Bob Huggins, NFL player Randy Moss, NBA star Jason Williams, and
former WVU football coach Don Nehlen will be attending the event.
The event will be held May 11th at the Glade Springs Resort in Daniels, West
Virginia. The tournament will include tribute programming to honor the Spring 2012
Pritchard Mining Class of the Scholars Program. The Remember The Miners Scholars
Program was created in 2011 to provide financial aid to miners, dependents of
miners, and students pursuing higher education in the mining industry. Scholarships
are awarded twice annually during spring and fall semesters. In its first year, the
Scholars Program awarded $25,000.

Remember The Miners Announces Little General as Title Sponsor at
Tribute Golf Classic
Remember The Miners is excited to announce Little General as the Title Sponsor
during the Tribute Golf Classic, to be held May 11th at Glade Springs Resort.
The Remember The Miners Tribute Golf Classic is an inaugural event being held this
year to raise awareness and funds of the organization. Four-person teams will play
the course. Sponsorship packages are available, and include the option of being
assigned a celebrity to complete a team with three players.
“We’re honored that Little General has continued its tradition of philanthropic
involvement and community support with its generous contribution for our first
annual golf tournament,” began Jason Parsons, President of Remember The Miners.
“Little General has been an integral part of our fundraising process in the past,
including sponsoring our first class of the Scholars Program in 2011.”
Registration will begin at 8:00 AM with a shotgun start at 9:30 AM. Prior to the event’s
beginning, awardees of the Spring 2012 Pritchard Mining Class will be announced,
and Remember The Miners will conduct tribute programming honoring the coal
miners, their families, and the community. A cocktail reception will be held following
the tournament, in addition to a seated dinner.

Scholars Program Recipients
Remember The Miners is pleased to announce the Spring 2012 Pritchard Mining
Class Scholars Program awardees.
Inductees into the Spring 2012 Pritchard Mining Class Scholars Program are: Jenna
Ellison, Kelsie Blankenship, Ashton Cline, Daniel Brummage, Collin Morris, Bobbi
Graham, Ronald Coon, Jr., Patrick Manley, Wanda McCune, LaTasha Mitchell,
Matthew Curry, Robin Davis, Paige DeHart, and Whitney Justice.
The Remember The Miners Scholars Program was created in 2011 to provide
financial aid to miners, dependents of miners, and students pursuing higher
education in the mining industry. Remember The Miners and the West Virginia Coal
Foundation created the Scholars Program to support families of the West Virginia
mining community. Awardees of the scholarship are miners, dependents of miners,
or students pursuing higher education in the mining industry.
“We’re excited for these men and women to continue their education in the coal
industry,” began Jason Parsons of Remember The Miners. “By offering these
scholarships to people of the coal community, we’re educating our future and
providing opportunities for the next generation of miners.”
